I’m wondering about the possibility of modding a red xp-e into a single aaa light (in a red case :laughing: and hope I can get feedback on how difficult emitter swaps are at this size.
I assume for xp-e/g lights that reflowing bare emitters and keeping the pcb and driver would be the most straightforward way, while xr-e lights would require a pcb swap - in which case perhaps a 10mm board might work?
Also, I’ve not seen a ~12mm (CC) buck driver anywhere, so I guess I’m stuck with boost?
In particular, I’m looking at the Brinyte PD03A (Brinyte PD03A Q5 (1xAAA) .... a post from the past), but experience with the TANK007 TK-703 also appreciated!
(I’m aware of the red black cat hm-01 but the output in photos looks very dim…)
