I ordered two "grey" L2Ps. Mind you, I think these are great looking but perhaps consistency was not the order of this production day's batch.

They are quite different. I like the darker one.
I received a couple of solarforce envelopes in the last few days and I have to say,what do you think is the deal with the guy putting the stamps all haphazardly on the envelope. I don’t know why I find it amusing but I do. Some guy in HongKong slapping stamps all over the place.
From the serial numbers it seems they were from quite different batches.
That cracks me up too. I also don’t understand why some of the stamps are so much. On that envelope there is a 10 cent stamp, a $2 stamp and two $20 stamps. Surely it didn’t cost them $22.10.
My wife gets a kick out those world-weary-traveler packages too.

The “black” one is a lot lighter than my black L2Ps and it’s serial numbered like greys are. Of the two, it’s the one that is actually grey, or what I expected to be grey.
Anyway, I’m fine with it. It just seems like I lot of what I’m getting from them lately arrives with an unexpected tint. Under certain light, my L2i looks decidedly green.

Stamps make it more personal. knowing somebody took the time to package it. and that rope tie that just seals the deal. I got a nitecore from boaz and just got one from ebay and the colors are off by a little bit, not as much as grey and black. Still nice Foy! Hey how about adding a black l2p in the pic.

A nice big family. Both grey looks great - hope the postman bring me my L2p grey in the next days.
They're obviously different colour and i like the "light gray version" very much! Maybe they know you're a solarforce collector and send you two different version of gray! 
I have two greys their serial numbers are 340 and 337 they are totally diffrent colours like yours. I guess every batch is a little diffrent.
I have the darker gray colored one but wouldn't mind having a lighter gray L2P. It would be nice if there was an option to choose which color gray L2P to purchase.
Thank you fishin, that’s where I’m coming from. I like these, all of them and there’s not a problem here at all, really. However, I prefer getting what I thought I ordered. I ordered these because (in part) I lusted after the grey one old got a few weeks ago.
Also, and this is equally umimportant, there are some slight fit and finsh issues with these two guys. The threads on one are ever so crooked so the bezel will not screw down evenly. We’re talking milimeters here so . . . and the head printing on one is way off - it looks like they pulled it out of whatever machine they use while it was still applying ink.

The hefty look of that L2i is growing on me, I gotta get me one of those. Plus it would be nice to have a standard AAA battery option is the lights go out.
