Pros:

  • Some satisfied customers

Cons:

I have only had one, maybe two orders from them. I do not recall what it was, but nothing eventful occurred. Based on my limited experience, I cannot comment either way. I will agree that there have been a fair amount of shill-like Aurabuy posts lately.

Well done

Two orders; one the JacobA60 it’s a good light and rather hard to find. Another was an X8 clone and I got what I paid for a very great host with an underdriven T6.

Both orders the shipping was ok not great, kinda slow. Wrapped up with tons of bubble wrap though.

I don’t know that I would avoid them so much as I don’t plan on going out of my way to do business with them. If they have a light like the A60 that you can’t find anyplace else then deal with their kind of slow service and keep in mind that to get the best price you have to contact them for a coupon code.

Three out of five stars from me.

I too got an a60 from them as I decided I wanted one, nothing stand out about the service - lack of order confirmation promted an email and shipping was within the PayPal cut off period, it was well protected and worked if at low current, since it was cheap and was bought to modify I wouldn’t complain.

The ridiculous amount of fawning reviews does leave me agreeing with the avoid label, I certainly wont go out of my way to buy from them, but wont flatly refuse to buy from them like I will some other traders, cough wallbuys cough

It’s not just the fact that there are a lot of positive reviews about products from Aurabuys. It’s pretty much human nature to like a free product more, and I wouldn’t call that bias dishonesty. But it was just brought to my attention the fact that Aurabuys is using flat-out shills who work for them in China and use a proxy server to connect to BLF and post links and ask innocent questions about their own products. Really despicable deceit.

I placed one order.
Item was far from described.
I started paypal claim. Customer support had little knowledge, and they tried to avoid communicating thorough Paypal it seemed. They wanted to give me a tiny refund.
I threatened with claim, and I managed to get full refund. :stuck_out_tongue: (The amount was insignificant)

They fixed item description though. And were only fairly hopeless, not utterly.
They were trying, but Ill avoid them based on that experience. I would rather deal with stores I have good experiences with.
Im also very skeptical about many of the positive reviews on that site, just speculation though.

BUT… It also depends on the individual. I dumped another large company the minute their shenanigans came to light. ( No pun intended ) Just not worth it for me… trying to promote some less than above board company? NAh, I’ll pass… & I don’t care which light you want to send me.

this seems to be a popular idea, this forum is the best advertising for these smaller vendors but tthey have a hard time playing by the rules. . as for me personally I would have never known about fastech , aurabuy manafont ,wallbuys etc without blf.

I know, it’s just mind boggling that a company would blow their chances here. They don’t even need to pay for anything. Just word of mouth and honesty can result in an instant success with BLF members.

they are unable to trust honesty

baitin’ and aswitchin’…

but the dream goes on

I bought their XM-L C8 for $7.99.

It’s the cheapest light I’ve ordered, so I figured it as a live & learn.
…still don’t know what to do with it as quality is not worth the cost to upgrade components; Would rather just get a better host and start over. Someone else might be pleased with the price/performance though.

I guess they were just ok, except for all the shilling!

And Yes, I would not deal with any of these places were it not for the references here on BLF. Thanks for looking out for the community.

LowLumen, you are about 880 posts away from a giveaway… hold onto it until then

In that case I’ll buy from other shops. Or better yet, direct to the manufacturers’ online shops.

Well this is disappointing. While working on my review for one of their free light samples, Kevin was very communicative and responsive to myself and others that were inquiring about their new store. There was excitement at the prospect of acquiring a new vendor that spoke good English, maintained good prices, great products and stayed on top of their business. Many of us collaborated with the same thoughts. Although my flashlight review was thorough, aurabuys might not have enjoyed some of the negative comments I made about the light (they didnt want to send me any more after that :D), but at least I was honest and thorough; where far to many BLF shill whores are not.

Its sad how some vendors seem to do well for a while, then drag themselves down to the common Chinese mentality of low-dollar business practices that we are all too familiar with. Youd really think theyd have all learned by now!!

Kevin, If you’re reading… that was very stupid of your company. Tell your boss that BLF will be very happy to send a dozen rotten goose eggs for you to break over his head. Buh-bye aurabuy!! :Sp

Warned them and give a chance?

i doht know if it was Aurabuy, Bonggood or any of the two. but not too long ago i received 1 free POLICE3W fleshright, without shilling or nothing, and i still use it. the clicky is cr*pping out, so that's not good. the light came in a little gift box with break-away wrist strap and when it works, the clicky and such, then it produces light. so kudos to Aurabuy and Boonggood for the working merchandise! :)

Aurabuys really screwed up by doing this shilling here.I had contacted Kevin about doing a review here and they decided to go with someone else. They sent me a free light just for signing up to do a review, which now seems like they were trying to buy people out here.I think companies that spam, shill and post fake reviews are out of their minds because it will be obvious in a short time. They should take lessons from Fastech!

I ordered an UltraFire C8 from Aurabuy at $8.99 and everything went smoothly. Yes their were some flaws with the light like the dirty LED dome, the absence of thermal paste between the LED star & the pill, and the absence of grease on the threads, but these were easily corrected and wasn’t a big deal for me considering the price I paid. I posted a good feedback based on my experience with them.

I only bought from Aurabuy once so I’m basing my assessment on that single transaction. Others may have a different experience. :~

+1 I agree. FastTech don’t edit reviews made by costumers. Even reviews with bad ratings are posted and for this I very high respect for FastTech.
