How to keep Tank007 E07 tail twisty safe ?

I heard the twisty part on the E07 is prone to breaking or whatever.. How do I mod it to keep it safe ?

Should I pull the lanyard piece out with pliers ? A lot of stuff can hook on it and pull the entire twisty with it...

Ideas ?

If you try to pull it out, you are very likely to break it. Use a small pair of side cutters and remove the loop.

While it is possible to break the switch, you will have to work at it so I'd not bother. Mine live in my pockets full time - but not attached to keys which may well increase the leverage on the tailcap.

Is there a way to open the tailcap to remove that clip ?

I snapped it with cutters but there is still a little piece in there that won't go out... Now its rattling.

Ideas ?

I'd put something like Blutak in there to stop the rattle. Sawdust would do it too with a blob of nail varnish to seal it in.

This is what the inside of the tailcap looks like. The picture isn't mine - it came from this thread. http://www.jayki.com/5538. My closeups aren't of this quality though when the new lens arrives they may improve.

Presumably that brass screw is very well glued into the tailcap. It should actually work without the head of it just as long as enough of it protrudes, but built that way the tailcap can't fall off. A big blob of solder on the end of it once it was in place would have the same effect.

Cool !

Well somehow I happened to stuff the little piece of metal from the cut up loop in there and it doesn't stick out of the hole now...I'll just leave it like that and see if it stays that way.

I hope it's ok for water to come throuigh that loop hole in the tailcap, theres a protective ORING under it right ?

I really like this flashlight, much more than my F23 and ITP a3..
