Fenix LD2 care

I bought the Q5 premium version of this light shortly after the P7s lights were released, and used it as the main light on my bicycle for a couple of years before adding more wattage to the cottage. I remember being impressed with the amount of light it put out then, but when I compare it now to the lights I’m currently using (a xml magicshine, a xml 18650 and a Light and Motion viz360) it’s hard to even tell it’s on. I realize a good part of the difference is due to the incredible increase in output since the Fenix was new, but also would like to know if there’s something that could be done to clean the contacts etc… to improve the output. Changing batteries doesn’t seem to change things either, new alkalines of freshly recharged NiMHs seem to produce the same amount of light.

I have a L2D as well. It was my first good LED light. It’s still a great everyday light for around the house, just not for biking. I don’t think it will be easy to modify because Fenix seals everything up pretty tight.
