Photobucket Alternatives?

After posting the SRK Kung with pics I apparently had too many views… They have locked my photobucket down for 30 days…. Any good alternatives out there???

I don'n know, which functions photobucket has, but I use:

for my review pictures and ebay.

If you’re looking for free image hosting and also often use screenshots this may be of interest:

I just use Google Drive. You can create a publicly shared folder, enter the folder and then copy the long string in the URL. For example, one of my folders is: 0B-BX653Loct-WkNTNEs0WFZuWGM. Now, you can access it at:
https://googledrive.com/host/0B-BX653Loct-WkNTNEs0WFZuWGM/ and you can link directly to the pictures.

Google Drive works well..

I provide a free image hosting service for BLF members also..

Flickr (also offering 1TB free)
Google/Picasa
Imgur
Imageshack

I wouldn’t recommend Imageshack, personally. They also have bandwidth limitations on their images and are frequently unavailable.

I like imgur for images I want to post, but don't care enough about that I need to have them in my own personal account. Images can be posted publicly or in your own account.

People post imgur images on reddit all the time without problems, and reddit is known for overloading websites.

Imgur

Imgur and Imageshack both have a habit of deleting pictures after some time (or lack of hotlinking?). I don’t know what they are like with a registered account.

I like Picasa for the organisation and sharing options, but I miss having the option of linking very large photos from Flickr. This isn’t really necessary for forum participation though.

There is also Facebook (well, someone had to say it! xD).

There's also having your own ftp or website. That creates all sorts of freedom and security.

+1 Thanks everyone…. Photobucket was on my last nerve…

Then Amazon S3 is unparalleled. They have a free Tier account that may be of interest.

You doing this?

I would want it attached to a domain name so that the images can be moved elsewhere, or Amazon can do that themselves, without breaking the links.

Oh wow, I didn’t know about this. Thank you!

imageshack sucks big time.

I use Razzi, it's fast to load images and a joy to use. Also SB's recommendation of google drive is a good one but it can be a bit daunting to figure out.

I'm going to definitely have a look at Brightmodules. Thanks PilotPTK

I have a paid account with image shack. I have never had any issues with it. I've had it for a couple years now. I have also used google, but soemthing about the google monopoly just irks me.

I use the flickr.
Getting direct image links is a bit of an annoying process, but it hasn't faulted me yet.

I use Flicker and 500px. 500px is pretty awesome and I'm thinking of migrating everything over there. So far, too lazy.

I looked at the ImageShack Rates and terms. Their Premium Basic Plan is $2.00/month for 25GB of storage. It does not allow you to host your images for your website or blog, etc. For that you’d need the ‘Business Subscription’, the cheapest of which is $10.00/month for 100GB of storage.

Amazon S3, which does allow you to host your images any way you want, and does not impose a file size limit, would cost $2.37 cents a month for 25GB. If you had 100GB on AMazon S3 it would be $9.50, so Amazon S3 and the ImageShack Basic Business plan are close in that respect.

However, this is one important consideration for some, with AMazon it is not a monthly set fee, the rates you pay are scaled to the actual amount you store (not a monthly minimum), and you do not have to sign up for a minimum term of 3 or 12 months as you do for ImageShack. For example, if you had 40GB of images stored, then with Amazon it would be $3.80. With the ImageShack plan that does not allow you to host your images, you’d have to sign up for a 6 month term at $3.17/month, or if you did want to be able to host them, it would be a minimum of $10.00/month.

Amazon S3 is also good for backing up data, similar in that respect to Dropbox, etc. There are some good Android Apps that will sync your phone to it. For the extra few pennies per month it’s likely for many the S3 option would better suit their needs and is worthy of consideration.

I use dropbox. I put the pictures in a separate folder in the Public folder, and from there I can share them.
