Received Nitecore EA4 slightly damaged.

I was so excited to get my EA4…I had been eye’ing it for quite some time. I received it…and threw in a fresh batch of PowerEx Imedions

Light worked great! Lumens, color, everything I had hoped it was and saw in reviews. I had wanted a compact AA Light for some time. Then I noticed this…

The flashlight still works…but it bothers me knowing I received it in that condition. I opened a ticket with FastTech about a week ago and haven’t heard anything back for a couple days. Bummer!

Here's a picture of mine. Notice the positive terminals are raised gold plated pads. Yours looks like solder plated circuit board lands. One looks really funky..

Mine looks just like glens... Looks like his once was... The one on the right looks partially plated, while the other looks worn

Actually mine is just missing one of those plated pads. That’s the reason I filed a ticket. I went back and forth with FT for a few days and they seem to think Im missing one of the gold posts when in fact it’s as you said the gold plated pad.

Now I see it. Judging from your picture, the gold plated pad looks almost black, like it's heavily oxidized. If you don't hear from Fasttech in a timely fashion, definitely file a claim with paypal.

I bookmarked Fasttech as THE PLACE to buy a light. Since then, their prices have skyrocketed, and customer service seems to be unresponsive - what happened? Or is this just a few isolated cases?

I think this is just an isolated case. I got my EA4W from FastTech and the gold pads are fine. Customer service-wise they have been very responsive in my experience.

So you’re the one that started FT on their down hill slide. They worked just fine until you bookmarked them. Lol

Their MAP prices have skyrocketed. Only that. They even tell you to contact them about bulk pricing. That's a hint. Contact them. Their customer service can be a hassle, but they are responsive, and in my cases, they've handled it.

For every bookmark another product gets the MAP treatment. :_(

They have offered to replace my EA4 if I send mine to their Miami location. I don’t think this is FTs fault at all….and they have done what is to be expected so far!

NiteCore QC is obviously at stake, FT isn’t to blame, I can’t see myself dropping money on a NiteCore anytime soon and I had my eye on their new SRT series.
