I was wondering if it’d be possible to make the thread subject a hyperlink?
The reason that this’d be nice is that I oftentimes will go to the recent posts in a thread, but then want to go back to the OP, but the subject is not clickable, so what I’ve been doing is to click “last post” then click the link to the 1st page. It’d be lot easier if the subject was a hyperlink to the OP, then I could click that to get to the OP, regardless of where I was in a thread.
Perhaps I'm not understanding your post properly but if you've landed on a multi-page thread, there is a link at the bottom of the page to "first". So pressing "End" on your keyboard (or scrolling if you maybe want to do it the slow way) and then clicking "first" on the link should take you back to the OP.
If it's a single page, then "Home" will take you to the top where you will see the OP.
(I should double-check this with Android and IOS too I suppose.)
Certainly, a link to "first" at the top of the page as well might be useful.
Yes, putting a “first” link at the top, like there already is at the bottom, would probably be almost as good, but making the subject (also) linkable is easier to find. Note that “the other” forum, as well as many others have first, last, next, etc. both at the top and bottom.
BTW, I’m not suggesting/requesting code change. I was assuming that this was a configuration change, as I mentioned other forum software has it already out-of-box.
Thanks for the suggestions. At some point I need to bite the bullet and upgrade to the next major release of Drupal, which will probably solve a lot of these problems.
