Not bad at all. I also wonder what the driver is like. But it would always make a nice host for Texaspyro’s driver.

Correct me if I’m wrong but this is the first Kung 4x with xml2’s and the first HD2010 available with xml2’s ??? Great prices too. I have some noctigon’s showing up for my 2010 or I’d be all over this.

Nice!
If I hadn’t just ordered the m6 I would take one.

Thanx for posting these bestflashlight!

new king is tempting, but im still trying to hold back on my spendings, still waiting for a mt g2 light…

I have uploaded the test video

Tempting indeed. I wonder if this is brighter than CNQG’s XML2 King? They list their XML2 King as brighter than their XML Kung.
I guess if this is using the same driver this should be brighter than both.

Is it using the same driver?

I have not seen their driver, may be same driver, even if,4pcs >3pcs,it is more brighter

Do you have any comparison beamshots between this and the normal king?

Anyone have personal experience with this particular brand? Are the stated lumens accurate?

The SRKung posted in this thread seems to be using the original SRK host. The SRKung for sale at other sources use an updated host. See the photos below for comparision

SRK original

SRKung of this post

SRKung updated host

Notice how the “rails” on the body of the SRK M6 (original) are the same as the SRKung posted in this thread but the SRKung M4 updated version has “grips” in the rails

EDIT: the M4 also has updated head section as well. Not saying the Kung posted in this thread is bad, its just in the original kings body so its all in your taste i guess

Umm, ok. Host? But is the light as bright as is stated? What’s the run time?

They are almost never as bright as stated, but this claim is not very far off from what is possible with XML2s, it will be very bright if you aren’t used to LED lights, brighter than your car brights are. This seems like a reasonably good deal for a Kung with XML2s, but I don’t know anything about this particular body style or seller. With good batteries, runtime on high would be over an hour usually.

If you like this kind of light, buy a black version, then find the forum post for $13.80 per pair Panasonic batteries and get in on that deal for 2 sets of those and buy an xtar WPII charger would be my suggestion if you are new to this

Thanks, B42. This is a really nice looking forum with lots of helpful people. I’m pretty new to LED lights. I have a Fenix E21 that’s good for what it is. I recently bought an Ultrafire (this one, I think):

So I also bought two 18650 cells that I was told were Panasonics. I also have a Nitecore i4 Intellicharger. The Ultrafire I have is no doubt less than 1300 lumens, but it does seem to be very bright. Gets very warm if it’s been on high for a while.

The Kung I have gets hot fast, this one is XML2 (cooler), but it probably will get hot enough to be uncomfortable in 10-15min at least if its driven well and sooner if good heat sinking. The body looks like old SRK body which got hot in about 15min. You might want to look into Solarstorm/Fandyfire Warrior model too: it has a variable light setting for the low mode (kung is two light output lvls fixed), uses 3 batteries and doesnt get as hot as my Kung (painfully hot by 12min or so). I got the XML2 version for $45 from www.cnqualitygoods.com. It throws further than Kung, but has a whiter light, and the variable low is a plus and a minus: it has PWM, which you can see while moving fast and some people dont like, but the ability to change light output is so nice compared to Kung.

Remember to use batteries all at the same voltage and same type preferably in whatever light you get.

Nobody is buying, so make us a discount, maybe somebody will buy something.

I have a FandyFire UV-S5 and a CW SRK, the beam looks way better on my two, a lot better spill, I can’t believe how tight the hot spot is on the video, nothing like mine.
tabs

only $2 more than price I paid but gen 2 XML…
good upgrade I say…
plus no need to wait for the bidding

and yes, that Kung host is different with the one scattered on ebay…

Well, I placed my first order with willbuying.com, after I had a chat with Mofei, owner. Ok, so I bought the XM-L2 HD2010 — a XM-L2 U3 (hope it is) and a new emitter that is a Chinese 15watt version of the MT series. Will use a 5 cree in series driver

(early) for 17 Vf, and about 700Ma. Hope the HD is drawing as much amps as the FT version…Oh, got a discount to sweeten the deal
