(Group Buy) Panasonic NCR18650B (CANCELED)

Just for future reference: the group buy has been canceled because FastTech did not offer good conditions for carrying it out.

- They took a minimum of 3 working days to answer any questions, and not 24 hours as advertised on their site

- They have raised the price they told me originally

- They want us to pay the normal price, and then we open a ticket to return us the difference of the discount

- They never responded to some queries

- Competition (WB) started its own group buy offering the same prices, and much more agile (response times and forms of payment)

Personal Conclusion: By the time FastTech is still one of the best stores, because of their prices, shipping speed, quality of products and packaging. But for group buying they are not really trained yet, and hopefully soon improve in that aspect.

Hi everyone!

This group buy is shared with other forum (ForoLinternas), so I will update the information in both communities.
The idea is to reach 50 orders at least, which I think it will be easy since this is a very good deal.

The item is Panasonic NCR18650B from FastTech. No need for introduction, just say these are one of the best options in terms of quality and price, at least that I could find for this group purchase.

The deal is:

Batteries: 3400mAh Panasonic NCR18650B
Size: 18.5 mm x 67 mm
Payment via PayPal, individually: Each buyer sends payment directly to FastTech
Shipping included: FastTech ships the product worldwide to each buyer (HK Post)
PRICE: $ 12,86 (PER PAIR)

I think it’s a great deal, and is always good to have some 18650s of recognized quality.

Please note that these are non-protected batteries.

This choice is mainly because of the length, since the protected version of this battery is around 70mm long, and that is often a problem with many of the lights we have. Besides, as we know, the vast majority of our flashlights doesn’t need protected batteries as they have low battery warning, automatic shift mode, etc.

Those interested, please post here, so we can see if we get the 50 orders.

Remember that at the same time I will update this group buy along with the other forum. (Of course, please do not post in the other community if already posted here)

Thanks for going through the trouble of a group buy Tomas

But 0.22 dollar/battery saved (when using the BLF 10% discount code on FT it is $13.31), that is not enough deal for me, sorry.

EDIT: oh wait, the $13.31 on FT is just one, this deal is for two, that is great, I'm in .

EDIT again: or not, it is indeed two cells for $13.31 with BLF-code, not in, sorry (and sorry I messed up this post)

:~
Actually is :

  • Two cells normal price: $14,79
  • Two cells with BLF code: $14,05 (5% less)
  • This deal: $12,86 (13% less)

I would get at least one pair.

Edit- button tops would be my preference, as well.

Non Protected, non button top, so not such a good choice for me.

I will take a pair of cells. Maybe 2 pairs.

Thanks!

I would be interested in two pairs of button tops, but these are flat tops :frowning: . Any chance of a group buy on button tops?

hmm… i could use few pairs… since i missed out on wallbuys sale :frowning:

Yes, of course, as is a group purchase, we should do what the group decides. If we prefer button top, I’ll ask the price at FT, wich I figure should be around $ 13

Thank you. I would be willing to pay the difference for increased versatility without having to use magnets.

+Button top

I’d be interested in at least 1 (pair), maybe 2, if button top.

In for 1 pr (maybe 2) of button-tops (unprotected) if ~$13. I’d rather see a King Kong or similar 26650 GB, but can always use some more Pannies.

More interested in protected batteries...

Also more interested in button top vs flat top.

In for 2-4 pairs either way.

The thing with button tops is that if you don’t want the protection you can just take it off. The exact same battery that you are buying is underneath the protection. It takes about ten seconds.

I have enough 18650’s but if you do king kongs in the future let me know.

I’m in only if they are button top and protected. I have far too many unprotected now.

I’m interested if they are button top.

I think the question here, is not about the protection, but just the button top option: http://www.fasttech.com/products/1420/10001980/1345500

(Without the protection circuit.)

Ok I see. So you want unprotected button top, some want protected, and the current buy is for unprotected flat top.

Good luck to everyone on deciding. I have enough of them anyway so I’m out.

Those who want protected batteries, well, this is not the right deal. Protected batteries have their benefits, obviously, but also have certain qualities that make them not so interesting for some people. (Sudden cut of power, and too much lenght, just to name a few)

This group buy is for unprotected batteries, and within that category I think the best will be the button top.

For those who have doubts, I leave an image:

(In some cases you can use a small rounded magnet on the positive side, to “convert” a flat top into a button top)
