Hi, I have been looking for a flashlight that is about 6 inches long, slim and a smooth bezel, to use a a yawara stick. I have found the Solarforce T2 at $25.99 plus $4.50 for a holster/pouch on the solarforce site, is close to the Streamlight protac 2 AA at about $35 on Amazon and includes a holster/pouch. Does anyone have any thoughts as to which is the better flashlight? Thanks, Ed Here are links.

Well the protac has the advantage that if you even need to use the warranty you will be sending it to a US company as opposed to shipping the solarforce to china.
Other than that I think it really comes down to personal opinion, streamlight was my first good brand of flashlight but solarforce is the company that got me into modding lights, out of those two I’d go with the T2, I actually just purchased a second fenix E21 earlier today from an amazon sale for $25 and my choice was between it and the solarforce T2, I really liked the simple UI but I didn’t so much care for the look. If I could only choose one of the two you listed it would be the solarforce.

Did you make a choice yet? I’m really interested in more opinions on the T2 (or the 1x18650 T1). The only thing I’ve seen on either of them is one review here, never even seen anyone else mention they have one or anything about them. I just can’t get over the ugly stainless steel head but the UI is about perfect (IMO) so pending some more talk of them I see one in my future. The price is good but the only solarforce products I’ve experienced is P60 stuff so untill its not so new I’m going to hold off.
If you get one please share your thoughts/impressions/(dis)satisfaction.
Not having experience with either, I would say the Solarforce. I just dont much like streamlight and am unfamiliar with the c4? LED.
Sloarforce is generally considered a decent brand so I would say its a good bet the light is of good quality, but so is the streamlight. The Protac just seems majorly outdated.

Thanks Cereal Killer and Trak Tuned. I did not order yet, I am watching for a bargain on the solarforce as that is the one I want, I assume they run deals now and then. And for sure I will write a review here, but I have to say I am no expert on flashlights, I can barely turn them on and off. I am so not a techie, I recently bought a new car and had to have the salesman show me how to start it before I could drive it off the lot. Anyway, thanks again, Ed.
I have had both streamlight and solarforce I like solarforces xml-u2 will be brighter and more efficient than streamlights c-4 emitter and the lightforce will have a better grip and tactile feeling .

Streamlight might call it a “C4” like Its something new but its just a CREE XR-E. Its just marketing, they use it to signify they’ve switched from luxeon & SSC to CREE.
I remember the first time I drove a Prius back when I use to wrench professionally (I still hold 4 current ASE certs), I had to have the guy show me what to do, I was trying everything but couldn’t even get it turn on lol.
