MKR with 4 li-ion in "Mag"

The host is a Fivemega 5x18500 and the head is the fmx3. Obviously in blue, I really wanted green but there are no green heads available.

No fancy copper here just aluminum. About 1.5” long. The fit is a very light press. Had to tap it in the last 1/2”

Pocket for the driver.

Here is the H6CC taskled driver. I was originally gonna go with the H6flex but decide I’m a more simple kinda guy.

MKR J2 6200K on a SinkPad

This is the first time I’ve top loaded a switch hopefully the spring pressure doesn’t mess up the ground screw.

Flush mount with the top of the tube.

The reflector is the DX sst-90 73mm and batteries will be 4ah Keeppower 26650. Now thye are some temporary 18650’s with spacers.

You have lived up to your name again. Just the name taskled scares me let alone programming one. being a press fit the heat sinking should be really good. Thanks for sharing.

It looks like it belongs at the head of a parade. At night. With no street lamps. And a new moon.

So much for Keeppower 26650’s that are almost a 1/4 longer per cell than the unprotected 18650s I was using that fit just right.

Sorry to hear about 26650’s. Have you tested the reflector with the MKR to see if they play well together?

There is a bit of a donut hole when the spot is tight. If out turn it out a bit it goes away but the beam gets a bit more floody. I would like to try an OP reflector but can’t find a 3” one.

Interesting project. Looking forward to hearing more and see some beam shots.

Some new MNKE 26650’s. These are still a bit long so I had to get creative with the spring. It now lives on the lest cell not the tailcap. The batteries came House of Vapor thats actually quite close to my house, just a jump over the border.

I also decided to stretch the mkr’s legs a bit and turn up the H6CC to 2A instead the the rated 1.25A. It’s noticeably brighter and makes a slight amount of heat now. It made none before.

Ledsupply is going to start stocking these. I wonder if one of their boost circuits would work.

I wonder is donut holes could be overcome with beam overlapping.

The hole can be focused out and still give a good spot, you have to get it just right. Orange peel reflector does a great job as well.

I have a second MKR built it’s a 1D extra stubby. it use a Kaidomain $2 buck driver and 4 14500’s.

Wow, impressive work there. I would love to own one of those! The work looks amazing. Good job!!!

You could also try the FP-99 lens from flashlightlens.com. It has a very light diffusion to it. They can cut it to any diameter.

Very interested in the MKR. Is it like an MTG2 but a better thrower? I think it's just four XPG2 dies packaged together so in theory it should throw well. I'm assuming you're using the 6V MKR package?
