Strongest red and green led emitters for flashlight! Where to get them?

I would like to do some experiments with green and red colored emitters and I need couple of each (2-3 pcs). If I am not mistaking XP-E would be the brightest there is(in less than $5/ piece range, I can only use single color emitters, can't use 4 color XM-L or MC-E)... I found red XP-E R2 @ DX but no green, any other place (with worldwide, preferably free, shipping) that you know, have them?

Also, how about using NANJG 101AK (with 2-3 AMC's) with this LED's?

Thanks :)

Osram LR W5SN Platinum DRAGON, red, 3.4 Watt LED, 1000 mA max. current

If you want the absolute brightest red LED, here it is:

Here’s a build thread:

i have tried this red osram ($1.11): http://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10002098/1151300-osram-lr-w5am-3w-620-630nm-70-80lm-red-led-emitter
used this tir ($0.90): http://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10002019/1194300-21513mm-10-degree-3w-spotlight-led-optical-lens-fo

there’s some cree leds as well, which i have not received yet but they’re on their way.

red xp-e from intl-outdoor ($3.86) http://intl-outdoor.com/cree-xpe-red-led-16mm-mcpcb-p-597.html

that’s what i’ve found when i’ve been looking a little bit.

Cheap 160 lumen red: http://groupbuy.dinodirect.com/501B-Red-Light-160lm—CREE-LED-Flashlight-1-18650-.html

Thanks all
here is some additional info: led will be installed in C8 Convoy host so 16mm mcpcb, 1 x 18650 battery and 17mm driver, SMO reflector…

Now,

- OSRAM LR W5AM 3W sounds interesting and I have it in my wishlist for a long time but I am not convinced that it will fit into SMO reflector :-/ (but for ~1 buck, should have ordered it sooner). Platinum DRAGON red with up to 115 lm at 1000 mA and Platinum DRAGON true green with up to 153 lm at 1000 mA sound like a very interesting choice but unfortunately there is no easy way for me to buy them (usual places like I-O, FT, DX… don’t sell them) :frowning:

  • Phatlight PT-54 is just amazing  I don’t know where I am gonna use it and I don’t know with what I am gonna power it (9-12 amps is not exactly standard in flashlight world) but I know I just have to have it  Must dig on ebay or aliexpress to see if I could get it there…

and for C8 I suppose I am limited to XPE and XRE…

Edit: couldn’t resist, I had to sneak around Luminus website and I think that color SST-90 would be perfect (if I could find them for a decent price), or even SBT-70

Update: So, I ordered 6pcs XP-E (3 x red & 3 x green) from aliexpress seller, $2.3/piece avrg…

These people have been selling lots of 15 or so green MR16 bulbs for cheap. I’ve bought three lots at the opening bid price ($9.99)… only bidder. They say they are 192 lumens… but that is a lie. I measured 300 lumens! They are obnoxiously bright. They totally drown out a 330 lumen white bulb next to it. They also have had amber bulbs. I have not seen any red ones.

I was going to use them in my rocket launch tower beacon, but they arrived after the guy that was building it had built it… 3000 Lumen Rocket Launch Tower Beacon

Of course if you can up the amperage to the insane there’s the Phatlight PT54’s big brother the 120

For big amps, IMR cells are the way to go. Aw makes em, or there’s a new brand illuminationSupply is selling.
