The basics are there I agree, but lack of mode memory is an issue for me in this form factor and I hate forward clickies with a passion, I’d just be better sticking to my planned build which would cost me about the same and be “right”.
Mode memory is great if you can remember which mode it was in when you turned it off, if you can't remember it might as well be a crappy next-mode driver. Much better to know for sure exactly what it's going to do every time you pick it up.
Forward clicky and no memory means you can pick it up, do a press-press-click and know it'll be in 'low'. Until technology advances to the point the driver can interface directly with the brain and we can control the lights remotely, that's about as good as it gets.
Forward clicky is the best. That’s not a fail, it’s a win. Love that it starts on high. When I want light, I want light. I have yet to find a single use for moonlight mode on any light I own. If I wanted less light, I would just buy a less powerful light.
One other thing, people will say that it does not tail stand or can hardly tail stand. I like that they made the switch easier to press which is a good trade off to tail standing which nobody ever really uses but for some reason they are hung up about it. If you really need a light to tail stand, stick it in a cup. Problem solved yet you can still use the clicky.
