Defiant 3-Pack 200LM XP-G2 for $ 12

I was in a HomeDepot near my work place today, and noticed 2 skids full of these Defiant 200 Lumen 3-Pack lights for an in-store sale of only 12 bucks. i grabbed a pack of them since i seen others going off with arm-fulls of these lights, ( maybe for xmas gifts :stuck_out_tongue:
They are all aluminum, uses 3 AAA cells, (which came with the batteries included with the lights) i noticed the emitters and they looked like they were XP-G2s, but was not sure until i got them home to inspect them closer with a magnifier.
As suspected, thay are XP-G2 emitters, well centered, and with a very nice almost Neutral-White tint, smooth beam, and 3 modes. ( Hi, low, and strobe)
I did a quick tail-cap amp check on the stock batteries included, and got exactly 1 amp on high, and 0.15 amps on Low. ( should have a good run time on low.)

Cool! I can almost read their specs on the packageā€¦what do they list for runtime and throw numbers?

On the package they say 200 Lumenrs, 4 hours run time, ( i dont know if that on high or low or strobe) throw distance of 170 meters.
I just went outside, its a clear night, and the throw distance seems to be atleast 170 meters or more on high so it sounds accurate.

Three FLs in one package. GREAT!

I didn't see these yesterday at my HD. I did see the usual seasonal 2 pack of XB-D (or XP-C, or whatever they are) for $9.88 though.

Probably the three pack is CA only, but we have them in two packs in the US. At least Home Depot and/or Brinkman are smart enough to keep putting out these lights. They sell like crazy every year and they are a great light for non-flashaholics. I hope they continue to sell like crazy, so maybe they will be in the HD stores for years to come.

I can't make out the SKU on the package. Is it 1000 765 505?

EDIT: They look different then the 2 packs in the US. The tail cap is flat in the US models and I don't think they have xpg2's. They are also rated at 120 lumens on the package in the US.

Definitely different than the US 2-Pack (which is not an XP-G2 or even XP-G).

Maybe its in Canada HomeDepots only ?

SKU is 1000 785 505. Here is the wierd thing thoughā€¦ i search for that number on HDsā€™ site, and it came up with Arrow T50 staples for that number.
I found antother number on the back near the UPC code, and a search of that got a ā€ No results Foundā€. Maybe these lights are discontinued.

Did the price end in a ā€œ0ā€ā€¦ if so they are discontinued. I checked that SKU online at a dozen stores around here and came up blank. Den been hallucinating flashlights again?

I did find the 2 pack of these today, but no 3 pack. The 2pack was only 120lm. Dunno if theyā€™re the same or not, but they look almost identical.

whats the bar code? thats how most products are on homedepot.com, the ā€œskuā€ is most likely the model number and not the sku

the price was just 12.00 even, so i guess is a discontinued design. :stuck_out_tongue:

those are a bit different in design, i seen them at the store i was in too. they looked like XP-E emitters in the other ones i seen there.

Thank you. It pulls up as a 60watt bulb when I try the inventory tracker for my store. Searched a little. Doesn't seem available in the US. Nice find.

I bought 2 pack of these lights, my Home Depot only got the ones 2/$10. itā€™s Cree XB-D LED but i like the reflector , itā€™s DD and look like 17mm driver could fit in there and some extra room for more 7135 chips
cut the spring at the tail, and loosen the head a little ,add adapter for 18650ā€¦ voilaā€¦it became 18650 light
it is now slightly brighter than the original, too bad i canā€™t figure out how to take the lens off( maybe itā€™s glued?), 28mm fresnel lens fit in there.
