What to use to drive/dim cob led strip light

Thinking of using a couple of these for room lighting but not sure what to get to drive/dim them.

So what do you recommend?
I should add that I do not want any PWM based dimming and the driver can be for mains, 12v or 24v as I’m flexible on the power source front.

According to me such LED strips are designed to be connected DIRECTLY to a 12 volt battery. They have resistors already inside the strip. Reason for using an external resistor would be to dim the light.

The one he is showing is a different type of strip light… it has no resistors and needs a driver.

I believe op wants to be able to dim them too. But I know very little on this subject. I’m just along for the ride.

All of the linked item reviews have concern about heat even with a large heat sink saying it needs a fan. Other complaint is lack of specs, and color temp too cool for living room.

Well I’ve got one of the cool white 10w ones and I like it, good colour temp for my room and quite bright.
Does get get rather warm at 12v but it should be able to be run passively with a decent heatsink, bumping up the volts to 14v it gets a lot hotter but also brighter but would probably need an active cooling solution.

As for driving it I decided to try one of these, just need to wait for it to turn up but it should do nicely and look quite nerdy nice when stuck in an alu project box

Why did they put the connectors like that? No way to make it look nice with the display visible with wires out the front.

OTOH cheap enough to proof of concept, but ultimately I think the back end (power control) can be hidden away with just a slider and allow the brightness of the LED to be the output indicator.

They are not actually needed and it will only take 5 seconds to remove the plugs, not sure what the 2 pin is but the 3 pin is this.

Odd, the listing seems to show the Dell pack connected to that plug as well as to the outputs, maybe some kind of monitor circuit?

It also shows a charging and charged LED, so guessing original purpose was some kind of charger.

There are several ways by which you can dim cob led light strip. I would reccomend you should try connecting it to a 12 v variable PSU.
