I have a Convoy S2 with an XM-L2 T6 3C on copper with a 3A two mode Qlite driver and AR coated lens. AWESOME light for its size. Fantastic output and great quality.
I checked various Datasheets they often state –20°C-60°C as operating temperature.
Cell voltage is a lot smaller on colder temperatures, capacity also. But that’s a problem with every batterytype…
Storage seems no problem as it is stated –20°C-50°C
On minus 10 and below a linear driver will fall out of regulation very quick because of the cell voltage.
But that’s just theory now someone needs to make a discharge test in refrigerator…
I have the 4AAA C8 style lamp in my car with a 3AAA holder with lithium primaries in it…
Not sure how energizer lithiumAAA behave in cold temperature as there is nothing stated, really nothing. But I guess it will still be 1000times better than the old 2D plastic Incan with 10 years old batteries…
Never use these anyway as I normally carry a bigger light in the can holder to play…
I own a Convoy M1 - real 600+ lumens. Perfect for winter as it will toast your hands at the 8 minute mark and fry an egg after 10-12 minutes. Excellent for cold climates - not so good in Florida. Bought it from the good guya at Illumination Supply.
