Nighshift worker from Australia

Hi all,

I’m an Aircraft mechanic who works nightshift In Australia. I have used a P14 and H7 lenser for the last few years, and a rechargeable maglight before that. Needless to say, after reading forums for the last few weeks, my eyes have been opened to a whole new world of LED lumens… I have ordered a SRK NW from CNQG after reading (but not joining) this forum. I am into RC aircraft and helis, and as I’m no stranger to a soldering iron or a multimeter, I’m already thinking about possible projects… Hi to all, and thanks for compiling this valuable resource!

I’ve used up my allotted flashlights funds for the next 3 months… 2 months ago.

Be careful!

And welcome!

After being hooked on RC heli’s for the last 3 years or so, flashlights seem like the least of my financial concerns… :-). Did I mention I can use flashlights as a tax reduction. Winning

Hey herostratus, I have the same problem lol Aviation Mechanic that used to work nights 4 years ago before I found LED lights also, boy did I miss out…… same R/C heli/airplane problem too….

Don't drink and shop for flashlights!!

And there’s much more then just lights on this forum. You will get hooked up with knives, lasers, you name it
btw, welcome

Lasers make me a little wary. A lot of negative media regarding laser attacks on commercial aircraft here. Only a few nights ago I heard air traffic control warning of green laser attacks 25 miles south of our airport… I wouldn’t want my 12 year old to get his hands on one…

Hi and welcome herostratus to the forum full of poverty. You must be one of the lucky ones as it looks like Avalon is closing down.

Laser attacks is hype.
Didn’t see that crash and erupt into a ball of fire as the bureaucrats try to convince us will happen.

Better to get him one and tech him the responsibility of it than not to and have him acquire one through other means and do something dangerous/illegal with it.

LOL at the kid in the front with the 405nm. Must have some power behind it!

What type of aircraft do you work on?

Yes, all sorts of things here. You can only claim so much per year, so watch out or it wont be long and your pockets will be empty. Enjoy !!

This quote is one of the reasons us Texans support firearms!

On a related note…welcome to the forum! Or…the most dangerous thing to happen to your credit card in years!

Yep, I believe in that too! I used to take children shooting any chance I could get!!

We're very glad to have you here, herostratus!

Very wise, a 12 year old is too young to be responsible for there and there friends safety, you would feel so bad if you were partially responsible for a child losing there eye sight.

Welcome, look after your wallet…
