My only complaint about BLF is...

...that I'd love to see a more active buy/sell/trade forum so I wouldn't have to go to CPF or China!

Someone here must wanna sell some lights! <g> Anyone tired of their Trustfire X8 yet?

Rich

I think the primary constraint on selling cheap lights here is having to compete with free shipping from HK.

I don't know how they can ship 3 and 4 dollar items for free to the USA from HK. If I ship a light from here (San Diego) to Las Vegas through USPS, it costs a minimum of $5.20. The HK post is amazing.

That it is. I think about this every time I'm frustrating by an HK Post delay. I don't know how they do it. I would be glad to trade or sell a few lights I own, but shipping is exorbitantly expensive, both in and out of South America.

You could always ship it a bit cheaper than priority if its under 13 ounces with USPS first class mail

But probably the shipping cost would kill a lot of deals on the less expensive stuff - when I can get a new one from HK for around the cost of postage from the US, it becomes a poor deal. Within the EU postage isn't too bad - around a dollar for light objects, but outside the EU it can get expensive fast. That said, on $50 or thereabouts, the postage is less of an issue. Problem is that many folks round here think $50 is a lot for two lights.

But it would be nice to see more B/S/T stuff.

I hate to admit it but I have a bunch of lights I do not use anymore and I have been thinking of selling some. To me they are just tools that is why I refuse to spend a lot of money on a light. I intend to use if it gets broken or lost I don't want to care plus I like to mod lights so fixing broken ones if part of the allure to me................................................................................... ........................... looks around at a bunch of lights collecting dust. Now which ones do I want to part with?

Maybe we can make a try. You have a flashlight that you don't use? Make a post with price and shipping cost. If someone is interested in will answer otherwise no problem.

Boaz already sell a flashlight (nitecore if i'm not wrong).

As other say, the main problem could be the shipping cost.. But there is also another problem: we are flashalcholic. I think someone can sell not even one flashlight without having withdrawal symptoms!

What Don said. Inside EU it's like an euro or two. To US it's something like 6 euros (about 8$).

I have too many lights. Could easily part from couple. I like building lights and flashing chips and even soldering from time to time. But once finished with all the building and flashing and soldering, there's just too many lights for my use. Have to either sell them or start gifting them to ppl.

Let me think... I'd sell my Pelican 2xAAA. Bought to replace the UKE 2xAAA a friend of mine lost (never lend anything to others!), but doesn't see a lot of action. Doesn't get used at all, to be correct. Not a great host for modding, tho.

Heck, I'd even let it go for a couple of decent SolarForce L2/ $ureFire 6P O-rings.

I know, lighthound is selling those O-rings as well... but I'm not keen on spending another 50 bucks on shipping alone.

I'll throw my hat into the ring on this one as well. My "Flashlight Shelf" is starting to get a bit cramped. I'll have to think about listing a few.

Funny but true … I know testing lights before shipping them .I didn’t have withdrawl , just a renewed appreciation for them .Not sure that happens any more …but it did for months . Most lights can be bought again ,the hard to find stuff is another story .That’s why i never understood being proud of something anyone can buy , seems extra silly .

I can understand wanting a one of a kind ...match mod .

Me too!

Having played with each torch ranging from a good clean to a full light engine replacement/mod etc... Every torch has its differences, and I can't really bring myself to selling torches. I think the other problem, and a big one is the shipping costs. From Australia, anything will cost at least $10-15 to ship via slow mail. So were talking HK delay times, but at insane prices. For this reason alone, its not even worthwhile to sell even my not so budget lights.

I do have a good number of D10s so far, but the shipping is an issue.. Say for example If i was to try selling it. They usually go for 45-55, so to compete, I cant sell it for more than $50, however if i was to take $15 from shipping thats $30-35 I get + the cost of buying a box/bubble/label/getting to post office. If I saw a D10 for $35, Id probably buy it and add it to my collection... therefor justifying Not selling my torches.

At least in the US the shipping within the country is very reasonable. Even shipping TO australia from the US is very reasonable, Ive spent 3.12 shipping from the US to australia for a D10, and $6 for a boxed one.

Im sure similar principles apply, especially when were dealing with $20 torches, where proportionately its the same story.

There was an idea on another forum where users (or a member I suppose) would pool together some items and everyone shipped it around so you get to sample them all and write about comparisons to lights they own. Everyone here is so spread across the world shipping is a problem, but I would have no problem contributing a dozen lights or so to something like that in the US. The only problem was that administration was a real pain for the program like some people would keep them too long, etc.

Shipping from Italy to US would cost between 4 and 8 euros (5,8 - 11,6 dollars) but we have also to consider the advantages:

- Light are fully tested

- All is perfectly lubed

- Some flashlight could be modded with a better emitter

I don't think you would need to contact "BLF member customer service"...
