Fake basic Klarus?

Having an interest in budget AAA flashlights, I was intrigued by an inexpensive KLARUS.

The cheapest shipped price, with a Cree XP-G no less, was offered here:

Unfortunately it only has the purplish Nichia LED, & appears inferior in a number of ways to my E01:

- Output is NOT constant as specified, but reduces over time. Although initially some 20% above my [natural colour] E01, within an hour lux had reduced to 77% - equivalent to what I measured from initial output with my E01.

- The threads are anodised with my red Mi02[?] - not so for the E01; which looks superior in form overall!

I intend to check output at hourly intervals - but an initial run did show a rather wan output after 19 hours. I haven’t wasted an alkaline on this “Cheap but Nasty :)” but am using an eneloop for testing. I should be able to estimate when output drops to 50% of the specified 13 lumens - compared to 10 for an E01. And perhaps a minimum USABLE level.

Cheers

An update.

With 2 hours clicking over I found that I had left my Light Meter on :frowning:

Good news is still some 75% of initial output - fairly stable from an estimated 10 lumens (77% of a specified 13?) after 1 hour.

I won’t bore you with future hourly updates; even if I can maintain concentration

Cheers
