3 AA mini mag modded to 3 amp XM-L2 (beamshots added, price reduced, $40) CLOSED

Up for sale is my latest mini mag mod. I found two of these 3AA lights at the local Walmart and bought a gray one to play with.

Out came the emitter and plastic parts to be replaced with a chunky 3/4 inch diameter solid aluminum heatsink topped with an XM-L2 U2 (tint unknown but on the cool side). The driver is supposed to be a 2.8 amp nanjg 105c but the latest batch of 105c drivers from Fasttech have been going over 3 amps on high. The driver is set for Low-Medium-High.

Negative contact to the driver is made off the face of the battery tube by touching the two copper tabs on top of the 7135 chips. The long spring is to deal with the extra half inch of space above the batteries in the 3AA tube.

The extra half inch of open space above the batteries is insulated with 1/2 inch pex tubing and the pill is tightly shimmed in the head with aluminum strips.

The TIR is the 15 degree clear from Fasttech.

The 3AA is shown below for reference with a standard minimag and a micromag.

The beam is bright and floody.

Roughly 60 yards to the house across the street.

About 30 yards to the pear tree.

Price is $50.00 $40.00 shipped CONUS. Shipping within CONUS is included in the price. International buyers will pay actual shipping minus the cost of CONUS shipping. First thread response of “I’ll take it” followed by an IM gets the light.

Payment will be via Paypal.

Thanks for looking,

Brian
