Good time for beam shots in the Eastern Hemisphere

As I write this you guys on the other side of the pond should be experiencing a 1-hour long total lunar eclipse.

Get out your flashlights, it's going to be dark!!!

Are you kidding me? The sun does not go down until two hours and it will not be pitch-black dark before August.

Okay, the SOUTH-eastern hemisphere

I forgot we had people here that live where Santa and his elves are.

Yes, and don't forget the polar bears too

Well its 3:30 AM and im sitting outside on a cold rainy CLOUDY night waiting for gaps in the clouds. Long exposures dont work on tall tripods with wind.

And the *cloud bounce* of all the city lights means its still very walkable at night... SIGH.

I wonder if my green laser could be seen against the moon's surface during a total eclipse?

Quick, shine it up so I can see it!! lol

I doubt it though... Not with the naked eye. Can you see it off clouds?

Actually the weather has turned foul.. its now fully cloud covered and raining, and theres enough ceiling(cloud) bounce to see all the trees against a glowing sky.

That picture was the last one taken seconds before cloud cover took over.

We are seeing it in a realy dark red/brown tint right now. It will stay that for another hour and then start to uncover. Still very low under horizont and town light polution is to strong to fully enjoy it.

Im going to have another look outside.. lots of clouds, but might get lucky
