Fenix TK61vn = one bad boy = 622kcd !!!

Hey guys, just got my Fenix TK61vn in from Vinh. This light quite simply throws its butt off. Even beat my K50vn.
Here are my results -
——————————————
Turbo (turn on) - 1760 lumens
Turbo (30 sec.) - 1735 lumens
High - 840 lumens
Medium - 332 lumens
Low - 53 lumens
———————————————
Tested side by side several other throwers -
——————————————-
TK61vn - 622kcd
K50vn - 542kcd
TN31vn - 498kcd
K40vn - 397kcd
——————————————-
So yeah I’m impressed. Actually did 622,080cd to be exact. Which is 1477.44m = .98 miles. It’s kinda cheating a little (and not ANSI), but it actually tested 648kcd at about 5 seconds. That equals 1609.968m = 1.000 mile. So one a perfect, nice clear night, this sucker is a true reflector based 1 mile thrower. For the first 10 seconds at least

.

Safe to say that in the pitch black dark, badguy that catches all that light in the puss will be a "deer in the headlights"!

Very, very nice. Another light in your very unique collection. What other mods does he do to them?

We await for beamshots !

Well, for sure dedome, wick mod, direct to copper, and about 5.8A. I’m thinking it might be a little over 6a with the 1735 lumen result. Not sure what else though. I tested mine with unprotected panasonic 3400’s.
It also held its power VERY well. Dropped about 25 lumens right after start up - and then held there rock solid. That’s pretty usual for such a hard driven light. Very nice.

Hopefully this weekend.

Amazing, Vinh has 20 people on a ‘commit to buy’ list for a soon coming offering, at about $250.

A Niwalker MiniMax Nova, (2) MT-G2, (4) 18650, approx 6000 OTF lumens!

Wow, that is world record for reflector based flashlight. Vinh did it again and again.
USD250 is considered reasonable as he puts a lot of effort to finetune and extra material into creating this thrower.

If I ever win the lottery you’ll know, because my name will be on so many VN mod lists.

I want this, tk75 is missing his little brother :stuck_out_tongue:

when holding the tk61, does it feel alot heavier and bigger vs the k40?
im debating if i should get the tk61 or not…i already have the k40vn.
which do you prefer so far….the k50vn or the tk61?

Wow now that is an impressive light. Very cool.

Oh my… I was thinking about getting that TK61, how much did it cost mod’ed?
hmm… maybe I should start selling my TN31

The Tk61vn is a bit bulkier than the k40. It would be pretty difficult to put one of these big headed guys in a jacket pocket. But truthfully just carrying it around it’s not bad. I’d say it’s not much heavier than the k40. Just has a bulkier head mainly.
As far as choosing between the k50vn and TK61vn - it would be the TK for sure. The K50vn has a nicer beam and tighter spot and it’s a nice light. But better throw, better heatsinking (or regulation) and Fenix quality makes it the victor for me.

The TK61vn varies a little in cost depending on options and discounts available. But they range from about $220-270. Mine, which is the best throwing variation, cost me $237 shipped. Not bad for a name brand light that already has all the mods done to it AND just happens to be the reflector based throw king

Nice! Figured the TK61 would be the best reflector thrower out there with some simple modding, as we spoke about... It's got the biggest reflector, so it should beat them all, but still it had to be proven.

Yep, that big reflector is doing its job. I can actually place the bezel of the K50 into the bezel of the TK61.

Does anyone know if its head was glued?

The MSRP is $159.95 and would be a stunning light to mod.

BangGood has it for $155, plus our BLF discount - best deal I know of. Most likely the head is glued, just like the TK75 I'm thinking. You can always ask vinh - he generally doesn't detail much specifics, but probably will if asked.
