Pics of LM-V6, U2, V5 and all that?

I’ve got a few lights now. You guys look at a photo of the bulbs and can tell what it is. I keep looking at my SRK, STL-V6, STL-V2, and other lights and dunno what I’m looking at. I’d post photos of all my junk and ask for ID’s, but it would be a lot better if I just knew what I was looking for. Big, Little, People talk about silver on it someplace. I notice some of mine have 2 silver spots on the board? I buy stuff, but I don’t want to review it when I can’t even tell what bulb I got…:frowning: I used google and google photos hard and didn’t find a chart of pics with the bulb labeled and “why this looks like a T6 instead of a U2 and not a T5. Can you point me at a sticky’d ID chart of LED types? Just common types. I think there are only like 3-4 types of bulbs used in most TF, UF FF and such junk that I keep accumulating. I look at my new light and wonder ”did I get lucky and get a U2?” But I can’t tell.

This topic with photos and LED types might help: >> LEDs & Other Stuff - (Reference Guide)

That’s a good start. I’ll start comparing. I looked all over for something like that with no luck.
Thank you very much! And if I may ask. How did you pull up that thread so fast? Do you have it bookmarked?

This has come up a few times in the last few months.

From my understanding there’s no way to identify bin type at the user level.

The bin type is the color? Emitter, Pill, Drop In, Bin Type, Star, Host, Driver. It’s all a bit much for me. I’ll figure it out, but just not knowing it all at first is frustrating.

There’s a ton to learn and remember about this crazy hobby!

All information about the technical terms of flashlight aren't easy. Maybe it would help, if you find the perfect LED type for you (the best color - for example if you like a bright LED with a cool white color: XM-L2 U2 1A or neutral white XM-L2 T6 3C or 4B).
I you found "your" LED type you can search a flahlight with this LED type, every time you want a new flashlight. Good shops offer much information about the built-in LEDs (for example Ric's cnqualitygoods.com, intl-outdoor, some flashlights on fasttech and banggood (convoy C8)) - most ebaystores offer only the usually information (like XM-L T6 - I have some T6 which are really cool white), which is a lottery game.

I’m more about trying to figure out what I already bought. In like 6 weeks I’ve bought maybe 30 lights. Knowing what I already have is what I’m after. Finding my perfect LED would be nice. But I’m doing “WTF did I buy?” at the moment.
