New @ Manafont Trustfire X9 18650 5 modes

saw this just added at MF Trustfire X9 single 18650 59mm Head

Trustfire X9 XM-L T6 White LED Flashlight - Gray (1*18650)

Led pill looks questionable, seems like a lot of air down below. maybe theres a big block of copper or aluminum hiding under there.

At 55usd I'm not tempted to buy on the off chance that the pill's OK. If the pill is decent then I will buy one but if not....................

I'll be eagerly awaiting the first review somewhere so that I can decide.

I must have my addiction under control. Read the OP 5 minutes ago and still have not hit the "Add to Cart" button.

Rats, finally sold my 2010 509hp Mustang...now I can buy more lights!

Sold the red one too! Now guess what I drive, doing my penance for 500 hp commuters...

If it was $20-$25 less I'd think about getting it, but $55 is too rich for my blood.

Wow that is really nice looking light, if they kept the charger and the battery and dropped the price $10 bucks it would be better.

I am already visualizing the duct tape over your mouth.

I have a couple of Trustfires that have that distinctive color of anodizing on them. I like it; it's different and it is subdued.

Still resisting pushing the button.

I dunno, those two other black dots look like screws, so there seems to be something back there.

This one would be slightly more flexible.  You can turn it into a compact thrower at just 180mm (from 240mm) and use 2 x 18500.  Still plenty of run time in this config if you use good cells.

Anybody get this light yet?  I'm interested in how it performs compared to the X8.

I've just taken another look at the pics of this light.   The rear of the pill holder certainly looks brass and that would be v.strange unless it was the bottom of a brass pill, unless its a poor pic and that a spring.   Yet looking at the front there certainly looks like a void under the star.   Its all totally baffling.

As far as I can tell the pill is not of the standard variety,

Looks like this whole thing is the pill??  I definitely agree that it looks like blank and empty space under the star though..

I just got the Skyray STLV2 and it looks like they have the same pill which was taken from the olight M3x.

looks like they should have enough cooling as the pill is a big 30mm x 2 mm and then screwed and thermal greased onto the head.

It looks like the emitter is sinked just like the one on the SkyRay STL. A 2mm thick plate/star that the emitter is attached to. Supposedly it works very well but with all that size in this pill it would have been nicer to see a solid chunk of aluminum between the driver and emitter.

here is a link that shows few beam shots:
http://www.okf1.cn/product.asp?id=897

and a very short review:
http://forum.fonarevka.ru/showthread.php?t=5651&language=en

they say there that the "pipe like pill" is about 3mm thick,
reflector outer diameter is 5.25cm

you can get that light at eBay for around 30$ if you don't mind bidding
search for TrustFire xm-l and look at the photos.

Wow. I'm not really into throwers but I don't have any throwers...I kind of want one.

Does anyone have any idea what kind of distance can be had out of this?
