Here are all the parts from which the light is assembled. As you can see there are two retaining rings. One for the switch and one for the driver. But if you want to remove the one at the tailcap you have to unscrew it Clockwise. This is done deliberately, so that it doesn’t work loose when loosening the tailcap.

The tailcap is kind of octagon shape, so it is easy to remove. The are 4 mounting holes for the lanyard. Also there are 4 crenelations at the end of the tailcap so you can use the switch with ease(or maybe hit somebody :zipper_mouth_face: ). Switching the light on/off feels very precise with no noticeable sponginess. Despite the switch button being fairly well raised, the light is still able to tailstand with no problems.

Tailcap threads are square and anodised, so lockout is possible. If we take a closer look at the battery tube, you’re able to see the large squares knurled in, these provide nice grip.

The threads on the other side of the battery tube, which screw into the head aren’t anodised and are more of a trianlge shape. But that isn’t a problem, as it is much easier to unscrew the tailcap to swap the battery.

The pill screws bottom up into the head. There are plenty of square anodies threads, which should provide good heat transfer to the body. There is a plastic centering ring around the led. It also provides covering for the wires, so they don’t come into contact with the reflector, but in this case the reflecor is plastic so even without the ring there is no possibility of shorting.

The reflector is plastic and you can see 2 rings inside, which unfortunately also result in a somewhat ringy beam, but that is not so noticable outside.

The led is also a bit off-center.

UI and how it works:
1st click: high
2nd click: low
3rd click: strobe
It has next mode memory, if the switch has been pressed in 2 seconds or less. After that it always starts on high.
Pros:
- Cheap
- Pretty small for a thrower
- Big reflector
- Good anodising
- Easy to mod
Cons:
- Plastic reflector not the best quality
- Poor lubing of threads and orings
- The lanyard will fit only smaller hands
- No extra o-rings
Other than that, if you don’t have a dedicated thrower, this is a serious candidate for your collection/needs!
CONCLUSION:
This is a serious thrower if you consider the low price, and for that price you can’t expect it to be perfect. My future plan for this light is to mod it with a de-domed xp-g2 emitter and put a different driver in, till then…
