I got some new 14x6mm switch boots for the Rustu 108S, but whilst shorter than the one that came fitted these are still a bit too long by ~1mm.
So I cut the button section off, leaving a flexible flat spacer/gasket, which could then be put in between the original boot and tailcap:
The light now tailstands happily:

Great idea, but now there is less room for long(er) protected cells?
Rubber boot is past the internals of the switchâŚ
Even ifâŚthe mod âgasketâ is only what a mm thick

I used orings sometimes but a flat ring is way better, and the recycling of the old cap is a very good idea.

I use thick O-rings too. I canât bring myself to cut a perfectly good boot.
I use the plastic cigar ring that it comes with. I suspect that the plastic will eventually wear down and it wonât tail stand again.
Wow, how come no one has posted this before? This is genius!

I used orings, but this is a neater fix, nice!
Thanks! I just fixed my HD2011 this way.
Well, I used an O-ring instead. But close enough.
