Well… I don’t enter many of the giveaways anymore as I am pretty happy with the lights I have collected over the last year and I figure someone else will have a better chance if I don’t enter. BUT, when I saw THIS giveaway I thought it was a great chance to win a very unique light that I would otherwise never be able to own. Somehow, even with the extra entries for the entertaining posts, I won and received a PM from RBD asking for the options I wanted. I opted for Black, 4 modes (LL-L-M-H), a Nichia 219 and for it to be driven as hard as possible. I won’t go into any of the details as RBD did a comprehensive build thread on it HERE
Well at the end of last week I got a small package in the post and the Raven had officially landed downunder. To say I’m stoked is an understatement. This light is literally a work of art, I have no idea how RBD made the heatsink by hand and I don’t even want to think about how fiddly it was assembling the pill, I had no idea how small these lights actually are! If you haven’t seen one before have a look at the picture below of it next to a Panasonic NCR18650. I haven’t got any other lights with a Nichia 219 and I am happy I went with this option as it has a fantastic tint. I am using an Efest IMR 10440 in it and it has a lot of output for such a small light. I won’t be carrying this light, it will be kept with my titanium lights and used on occasion around the house as I would hate for anything to happen to it.

Finally I have to say a MASSIVE thank you to Scott aka Rufusbduck. The workmanship and attention to detail in this light are unreal and even though there were problems with the original driver he fixed them and sent me a fantastic light!
