I don't know if they're much better since I don't think the major corps manufacture that size.
It would be logical. Panasonic does manufacture 26650 cells but don't know about others.
Here's a link to a picture of 4Sevens 26650 cell, old style vs new style. I'm not sure if it tells us any thing, but other than color, the new style 4Sevens cell looks similar to the cell in the Manafont link.
And if you scroll down a bit on link, it shows a blue one.
That first light is just a widebody C8. The second one looks like it has some pretty kickass cooling to run a hard driven xm-l until the battery dies. Pretty sweet!
There are good 26500/26650s. Modders always use them for more juice.....including hardcore laser pointer enthusiasts. I think there are IMR flavour from AW if i am not wrong. Searchlight throw/lumens from a flashlight form factor. Eg Ma_sha's Mag Nighthunter II which came in at 500K candlepower which i believe its measured (500K lux @ 1m), that's 5X the Olight SR90. (it dropped from 750K as the arc gap opened up coz its not new)
Nice lights! I am so broke now.... But I don't get it, no HA and the head reflector is not 55mm league, single XM-L of 155mm host length and its nearly 60 bucks? The 3xT6 I can understand due to emitter cost. Remember, Chinese aluminum is cheap, the TR-1200 is just usd13 shipped.

AW does not have a 26650, they have a 26500. I've gotten 26650 IMRs from batteryspace and http://tacticalhid.info/imr. They aren't cheap but their rating is true (or close enough).
Only a few manufacturers actually make lithium cells, except maybe these podunk chinese factories dumping the byproducts into the local orphanage. I wouldn't be surprised if AW and a lot of the smaller companies used those cells anyway.
Sorry, mistook the red wrapping for AW IMR. LOL! Lighthound also stocks 26650s.
