Looking for a good 1xCR123 flashlight around $15

Do you guys know of a good 1xCR123 light around $15 US without visible PWM?

Looking specifically to run it on 1xCR123. Will not be run on a li-ion.

I searched a little and couldn’t really find anything so I thought I’d try asking.

(lithium–manganese dioxide)
LiMnO2

how about a husby p2 ..cr123A and AA light ...16$?

ha3? finish, nice knurling, crazy sharp attack bezel ,tir sweet beam ,no pwm ,decent tint .killer tuff clip ,easy to mod.Takes about any battery you give it .AA/14500, cr123A/16340.looks and feels lots better than most 15$ lights.

is a Lithium (not Li-ion) :P

https://www.google.com/search?q=RCR123A

Some lights work OK with CR123A (primary, not rechargeable, lithium cell) but will be overdriven by a RCR123A (rechargeable, lithium-ion)

That search brings up some distinctions to watch out for.

Solarforce Z1 is very nice. No PWM on high. Very nice beam profile and size. If you want constant current then you’ll be spending more. And tbh I think people over hype PWM in a lot of cases.

I hate visible PWM on a flashlight.
It makes everything look nervous, especially in your peripheral vision (the sides).
And you never know what you’re gonna get.
Up to now it is my experience that it is not related to the price of the flashlight.
As a matter of fact, my cheaper flashlights do a better job at it than my ehm… less cheap ones…
May be a matter of PWM frequency, probably.
But I understand that not everyone is bothered by it or even notices it.

Solarforce z1

Does any light have PWM on high?

Is PWM visible on the modes on the Z1?

The UF-K21 is nice:

For the tiny CR123A battery, to me it should go in a tiny flashlight.
I have one of these on the way:
Trustfire MINI-01

Also have a Thrunite T20, (no longer available.)
Shiningbeam has some: Spark, I-mini, C-mini,(‘value edition’) that take CR123A, 2AA, and will also run 4.2Volt. …but just a bit over your price point…

.

+1 real nice light in the 5 mode.
Under the radar light for sure.

The Trustfire Mini 01 fits your budget and while it does use PWM on the medium setting, (there is no constant low, just high and medium) the modulated frequency is much higher than what you can pick up with the untrained eye.
It’s good on a disposable CR123A but the output on high goes up two really significant notches if you use a rechargeable RCR123A battery.

I agree about the TrustFire Mini-01 and the TrustFire Z1. That is if minimum weight is not primary.

+1 on the mini-01. Build quality and beam are great for a $13 light. I bought one for my girlfriend a few months ago. She said she didn’t want to carry it cause it was too nice. She actually just put it on her keychain today. It’s a real pocket rocket too. Just wish it had a low.

A couple of months back I was interested in a Brinyte torch and contacted them and then just kind of forgot about it. They just emailed me yesterday with an offer on the ED10 for $9. Postage quote for me was $19, but Im ordering 3x ED30 and 2x ED10. The ED10 is CR123.

I cant say how much postage is for one item. And I cant comment on PWM etc, but the ED30 got a good review (theres only one I can find) and retail at around $25. ED30 takes 1xAA or 2xAA and might take a 14500.

The link shows the ED30 and ES10 (its the other place)

Might be worth a look.

I asked them about posting the deal here, they said thats fine but can not guarantee the numbers. Its a short time offer with limited stock. If you PM me, Ill put you on to the lady Im dealing with at the manufacturer.

I can’t seem to find any info on the ed10.

Yeah, I kind of slipped on that, my bad

MRTDiver, I think thats his username, says their dive lights are good too.

Thanks for the link. I might have to pass on this one though.
