New dual mode Pelican 1910 1AAA

Anyone else purchase the new 74/14 lumen dual mode Pelican 1910? I bought one along with the new dual mode 120/12 lumen Pelican 1920 2AAA version.

They are at least as bright as expected, the tints are good, and I don’t see any objectionable artifacts in their beams. The new 1920 is about 1/4 inch longer than the original 1920.

I don’t have any runtime data yet and power them with Energizer Ultimate Lithium primary batteries.

How rugged is the light?

It looks very robust.

And what about drop impact?

The Pelican 1910 is thicker and feels more rugged than the Streamlight Microstream, though I’ve not had problems with either.

The forward clicky tailswitch has a reasonable feel and I didn’t have to modify it for a softer touch as I did with the Streamlight penlights.

Pelican’s web page for the 1910 is here: Pelican 1910

I don’t see an ANSI FL1 rating for impact resistance.

Thanks for sharing! I own both the 1910 and Microstream and I’ve always slightly preferred the 1910.

I conducted informal ceiling bounce and outdoor tests with a few different lights. This new Pelican 1910 in the high mode is a lot brighter than my 35 lumen Streamlight Microstream. The Microstream has a more interesting pocket clip, but the new Pelican 1910 won me over with its 2 modes and brighter output.

I’ll definitely be picking up the new version of the 1910 soon, thanks for the heads up.

There’s a few reasons I like the original 1910 over the Microstream:

1. Switch isn’t as stiff as the Microstream
2. Better output
3. It’s a little beefier

Don’t they have a lifetime warranty? If you drop it and break it, they will likely replace it for free.

No where do they disclose the emitter brand and type.

I believe they call it a “C4” emitter but it’s really a budget Cree XP-C. The Microstream uses the same LED, or did. I wonder if they updated the emitter for the new 1910.

C4 is a designation used by Streamlight. It is common practice for Pelican, Streamlight, Surefire and most other USA flashlight companies not to be specific about the emitter in their lights.

The new Pelican 1910 drew 820 and 166 mA from an Energizer Ultimate Lithium battery in the high and low modes when I measured them.
