Good 2xaa that can throw for night patrol?

Good 2xaa that can throw for night patrol?

I’m sure someone will be along to help you but the first question is going to be - What is your budget/length of use needed.

Budget is 60
I have tons of eneloops so length of use is no worry.

why 2aa? is that mandatory? the sunwayman d40a is an awesome light that uses 4xaa in soup can configuration…

NiteCore MT21A is the first thing that comes to mind. Well build and throwy for AA light.

Larger head = bigger reflector = better thrower

Fenix LD22

I must be particularly slow tonight, I EDC a NiteCore MT2A and never gave it a thought, I’ve not had to use it for a while.
The MT21A would be a fine choice.

mt21a vs e25 vs ld22
I already a notecore ae4 but its a bit large for duty.
Of the 3 above which has the highest hot spot lux on eneloops?

Out of these 3 MT21A will be the throwiest I think. E25 has older led and LD22 won’t throw much as it has larger led.

Awesome, thank you guys!

2xAA throwers:
Nitecore MT21A
Dereelight Javelin
Eagletac P100A2 or P20A2
Xeno E06

I would go for the Nitecore MT21A since it is the latest (and thus up-to-date) and powerful of the bunch.

nitecore mt21a - i have 2 and they both throw quite well for the size

i paid $15 each for them on a lucky money sale from wallbuys

The newly updated E25 has the new XP-E2 LED. It’s more powerful than the original E25. It also has a burst mode that the original E25 lacked.

I don’t have an MT21A for comparison, but it looks like a good light.

My experience is that the LD22 isn’t as throwy as the E25. The LD22 has a broader hotspot, which is quite useful at closer distances.

Wow i wonder if the new new e25 has the 10000 lux that the mt21a has.

Would offer more info but at work.
