Glad to be here..

Hi everyone from London, UK, I'm glad to be here. I recently joined A.N.Other Forum-I'm sure you know it-but they have such a mind meltingly long list of Don'ts, Mustn'ts and Thou Shalt Nots that, to be honest, I felt too put off to post. I discovered you guys here via a random link and I'm pleased I did, it's a much easier welcome. I'm from a film photography background, and it was during many long night shoots that I first developed an interest in good torches, though to date my highest spec models have been Mags so obviously I've a lot to learn. Hope I can contribute as well, look forward to meeting you in the threads.

Lensman welcome this site.

There is a lot learn, I'm sure you can teach us a thing or 2

Welcome Lensman, You will surely like it here more than over there. A bit more relaxed and just as many smart guys.

Welcome to BLF Lensman!

i felt the same way at the other place and was even a bit gunshy here in a repartee with one of the other posters.

got a personal message from one of the majors telling me not too sweat it and to keep posting.

extremely considerate and not required of him. i have never been treated such in ANY other forum and became a true believer immediately. hang around, its a hoot.

welcome to blf!

From my experience the only 'don't' around here is 'Don't be shy'........if you've got a thought about anything throw it into the mix.

Welcome, Lensman.

Welcome to the group, Lensman! You're going to like it here! :)

Cheers,

Johnny

Me too! It is a great group here, truly cutting edge. Everyone has been very welcoming and i have increased my knowledge quite a bit in a couple of weeks I have been participating.

Welcome to the group,

Ron

Stock up on essentials............'cos perpetual poverty is par for the course on BLF

Welcome Lensman!

Its like Join BLF, rip out wallet... About ten days ago I joined BLF, and since then I have placed 5 orders. Before that my last flashlight related purchase was 3 years ago at costco where I bought 2 LED flashlights for $11...

Be prepared for the worst, or maybe the BEST!

Ron

WELCOME !

And hide your wallet .

Welcome to the club :)

Welcome to BLF...

welcome lensman

you'll be glad you joined ...We know everything .

BLF is a bit of a misnomer,Instead of having 6 or 8 really expensive lights and being a snobbish prig about them ...You end up with about 14,000 lights and spend about 30 times more money. But that's ok ..they were cheap...:P

My suggestion is immediately buy something from DX... on your deathbed they will hand you a yellow package and hear these words "go towards the light" ..

Welcome Lensman. We will expect great beam shots from you. As Boaz said you will end up with a lot of lights here where as the other place you would only have a couple of exe ones and would feel scared to even mention buying budget lights. You will also buy regularly from KD, Manafont, CNQuality goods, Solarforce, DX and others.

You will find "real" reviews here, not just on lights, but batteries and chargers as well. Also at times there will be group buys available.

You will also see some amazing "mods" done on lights.

That has to be the warmest welcome I've ever recieved to a forum, and I've hardly wiped my feet! I'd love to get involved and start my first thread with you guys but I won't charge in; I guess a common mistake for new members is to re-hash old topics.

There are many questions I'm dying to ask, like "does anyone own a torch that they're TOTALLY happy with, i.e. wouldn't change a thing?" but that one's probably come up more than once already so I'll do some serious archive revision first and maybe chip in a post or two where I can.

The only Q I need to ask for now (and sorry if this is the wrong place to ask it) is whether even the mention of high end torches is considered a sort of foul depravity here, and if - not saying I do, mind - but IF I were secretly flirting with a particular make or model that has no place in this forum, should I 'fess up among friends, or take my filthy secret to the grave with me?

Sincere thanks to all of you who've taken the time to welcome me here. "Buyer's Remorse" here I come...

Nah, no problems........One of our members has a TK41....even dared to have it reviewed.

That said if you mentioned your gold plated titanium Surefire with real ruby highlights it would probably raise a few unkind comments.
