I was surprised how many lights they had and how cheap they were .. The Rayovacs Indesrtructables for 10$ is a decent price . I also saw some Defiant 2 pack AA xpg-2 lights for 10$. I think they are one mode 80 lumen lights but I bet they are doing that 80 lumens for like 10 hours.. I’m guessing your average guy would be impressed with a bright little $5 light that lasts 3 or 4 years …or till the AA duraleak leaks

Dcho, thanks for the pics. I’m drawn to a couple of those area lights, but strangely, they aren’t in stock anywhere near me at the moment.

Which part of California are you from? I purchased 1 of the Bat Flashlights. I will go back to pick up another one. I might pick up some of the Husky ones. The only thing I do not like is it covered in rubber. The same as the Costco Duracell 1000 lumen one. Not good if to be used ad defensive tool. The only closest one is the Batlight.

BTW. Wallyworld has the Pink Orzark Trail pink batlight. Picked one up for collection of Batlights.

All I can suggest is try again.

I had only seen the bat lights in Canada last summer but now the stores around here have them. It seems to me if available, everyone should consider getting one of those!

Those 500lm 3xC Duracell flashlights seem interesting. Probably would not be too difficult to convert them to 18650 or 26650… just need something to fill the rest of the tube with.

Fill it with another 18650 in parallel.
I’ll post a pic if I can find it in the
Defiant super thrower thread.

EDIT:

Careful, I just remembered that someone on BLF tried an 18650 in one of the Duracell lights and it blew the LED. I don’t know if it was one of these.

2 cells in parallel
Place this in a 3/4” sleeve to use up the extra space and get twice the runtime

It's very important with the above to use a plastic or other non-conductive sleeve.  Also, be very careful to put both cells in facing the same direction.  You will get a direct short of both cells if they are not put in oriented correctly.

Yes, ImA4. Very important to make that clear
This pipe

BTW, ImA4Wheelr, You posted for the first time in that thread almost 5 years ago now. Made quite a splash right from the get go with your idea for that mod. Wink
At the time I was an “old timer” with a whole year under my belt on the forum LOL
Now you have twice as many posts as I do, with a whole lot more flashlight knowledge Grad

Nice of you to say that, but trade for your electronics and general knowledge in a New York Second.

today they had about 30 pallettes covered with black plastic tarps and signs that said “no peeking until black friday”
a few tarps had been partially pulled up, saw some drill combo sets, some dewalt tool boxes etc, but they were mostly covered.

They are going to have Amazons Echo Dot for 5 days at $29.99
I never had heard of them until last Christmas when my wife had gifted 5 to house! Silly
I have NEVER seen them offered this cheap. They are always $49, never saw a lower price in the past year. They are really cool and useful.

Yeah, I just read all the BF newspaper ads, today is Thanks Giving. Virtually all retailers have the Echo Dot for $30 this year. Smile

These appear to be Coast FL85’s. I went out and purchased a pack this morning. I’ve been using both the Coast FL75 and 85 for over a year and they’re really nice. 20 bucks for 2 is crazy!!! Thinkin they’ll be gone before they go on clearance.

Hmm I think my HD is broken. Most of the lights from the huge thread above are not even showing up. I think there was only 3 types of flash lights and one type of lantern.

Going out tomorrow to take a look at the other HD, it is a bit bigger but this one should have had a bit more.

Some of the flashlights I posted about earlier are already at reduced prices. Others have already sold out.

Each year these items are brought out, and then later they go at a reduced price.

Here is another great deal on Makita power tools.

And just a month ago these were cleared out at half this price, and here they are again. Go figure

Yeah, lots of stuff sold out at a HD I hit on the way home tonight.  I think they sold well because the prices were lower this year.

It's Hammer Time.  What is a Hammer Driver-Drill?

This one still shows at regular price online. I guess I would have to head over to my local HD store to see if they’ve discounted it there.

As if I needed more flashlights… Smile

Thanks. Yup, it’s $15.98 now.

For this being a 4xAA light, it is pretty darn huge. Here it is next to the 3xC Defiant and Convoy S2+.

I haven’t done any measurements, but with a naked eye, light output from this 500 lm Husky seems pretty close to the 1000 lm Defiant. However, the Husky has a more intense hot spot. It also has mode memory, so I like its UI better than Defiant’s.

From negatives, the Husky has some ugly green tint right outside of the hot spot.

I could not find these in Canada but did find this, a consolation prize

Defiant spotlight is 4.88 at my local. On the 5 buck table

What a price considering it comes with 3xc batteries.

Looks mega-mod friendly.
32mm driver and look at this heatsink

So I bought 3 more…

I was there Tuesday and there were not any at any price. Came back Thurs and they had the 5 dollar gift table full of them.

Had a big sign on it comparing it to a rayovac 6v lantern

Thanks for posting about this latest deal. i checked using the brickseek link for zipcode 35603 and found a nearby store that had 160 on hand, and 159 saleable. Plus numerous stores in TN and GA that still had full pallet quantities available.

So i drove over and there were none to be seen. i used the in-store pc and clicked on price-check, but couldn’t find them under “flashlights”, but later tried “spotlights” and it came up at the $4.98 price. Now it was just a matter to find that pallet full of lights.

Indeed it was a full pallet still in the shrink wrap up on the top rack a few aisles over.

There was an interesting label on the palleted boxes: HOLD FOR MET PROJECT FLASHLIGHT BLOWOUT QP ???Wonder what that is all about? Some of the HD workers thought these might have been from Black Friday specials. But it appears that there are numerous stores downs here near the mother ship that have full pallets up on the top rack and no clue that they are there.

The boxes assembled into display stands with a $9.88 price, then they printed out a new label to cover that and show the $4.98, which is a super deal on a quality light—it throws a long 320 m beam, has 2 modes with the trigger switch, runs 12 hours on 3 C-cells.

But if you can’t find any near you and want to pay for shipping i’ll grab some for you.

The SKU in the store is different than the brickseek link, it is 1001-596-206. Try that one and see if some show up.

Home Depot says none within 100mls of my zipcode

I would take you up on the offer of shipping. Actually make that 2.

Let me know the total cost and I’ll PayPal or wire you the moneys

You would need to send me a PM with address info and any shipping preference, etc.

The blister pack light is 10×11×4” and weighs 2.06 lbs. By themselves, one spotlight with batteries weighs 1.52 lbs and the volume is ~ 7×7×3.7”.

So 2 bare lights will fit in a medium flat rate box, 11×8.5×5.5, shipping cost is $13.60.

The large FR box is 12×12×5.5 and would only hold 1 in the blister package for $18.85.
