I was about to buy a light from GB but then I realised their exchange rates are terrible. I’m from Australia.
Their Olright SR51 is $61.58US (Lets forget about the coupon for now). When you switch to Australian currency (top right corner) the price goes up to $69.94AUD.
The XE rate from US to AUD is $65.17. Paypal’s rate is $67.57
Other sites I’ve browsed have rates very close to the mid-market (XE) rate but GB is a pretty big difference - 7%. With my credit card I can pay the actual USD XE rate as they don’t take any international fees.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
