The perfect light

Hello everyone. I’ve been going crazy trying to find the perfect little flashlight for edc. I want one that is a tail click, preferably just two modes, high/low, can accept 10440 batts, more than 37 lumens, and has a very secure pocket clip. Keychain lanyard is not important. I have a Maglite Solitaire led that is 37 lumens. I just don’t like the turn on and the lack of a clip. Maybe there are some pocket clip mods out there because the clips on these small lights simply suck.

What suggestions do you have for me?
Thank you!

sub to see what people offer as i use the Olight i3s and love it.

I was looking at the Olight I3s. It seems to be the front runner but it isn’t click, doesn’t accept 10440 batteries, and the clip looks suspect…

How about the ongoing group buy? STARTED: GBGB: Stainless steel AAA clicky with a clip (CQG S1 "clone")
It’s 1 mode and I’m not sure about how formidable to clip is, matches your other req. though.

I use 10440 in my i3s eos (not recommended but i still use them) but i don’t use my i3s alot, only for a brief amount of time.

Try the Lumintop tool.

I will vouch for the olights clip. Its in my jeans all day everyday. Hasn’t fallen off yet.

I carry this for work next to my chappy in my front pocket, only 7.95. It’s 60 lumens and I’m very happy with it.

I like that alot, I think I might get one.

Cool! Thanks for that link!

Wonder if a BLFTiny10 or Tiny10DD would fit in that

Same here, bought my i3s and a couple efest 10440, and within a week or so it was my constant EDC. Fits in my pocket, never accidentally turns on, turns on with one hand, 99% of the time more than enough light. Typical use is medium, walking at night firefly works fine.

Gets hot after a minute on high, but I almost never need high for longer than that. Not protected, but so far easy to detect when its getting low. Spoils you for other cheap lights, I just can’t see going back to the bulk of larger light with this one around. Bigger lights are strictly tool box or tool bag now.

I like the Smiling Shark 5039. I usually modify them to make them brighter, but if you want run time, it is quite good in stock form. In particular I like the shape and the price. It is the only AAA size light I can think of with nice curves. The surface and shape are easy to hold and feel good in the hand. It does not appear to be knurled, but it has a very nice rough surface that gives grip. The anodizing may not be as thick as some, but is very good.
