Why I dislike Bladeforums

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/865209-any-experience-with-SANRENMU-knives

Every SRM thread there gets locked or people insult you for liking SRM...

Actually britishblades.com are quite keen on Sanrenmu knives.

As SRM threads on Bladeforums go, that one was fairly tame. There is a fairly large contingent of users on that forum that are incapable of seeing past the fact that they're made in China, or that they have designs copied or "inspired" by knives from western knife companies.

Well... if the former is your problem good luck not buying stuff from China. If the latter is the problem you don't any knives from any major companies based in the west (with the possible exception of Spyderco) because they all rip each other off on a pretty regular basis.

Reminds me of CPF with budget lights... what a disgraceful site. Its also funny how many major brand knives are known or suspected to be manufactured by SRM.

Blade forums - Not budget friendly ...

Want to show of customs , or rare US made blades , its the place to be ...

Might be time for = Budgetbladeforum.com

I almost posted this .

I rather enjoy it the way it is. If I hadnt read about SRM knives at this site, I might not have ever started collecting them. Several other members are in the same boat as well.

But who is to stop some one from starting a new forum dedicated to budget blades ?

Id sure visit a few times a week ..

hmmmmmm , budgetbladeforum.com Goooodness !

So many budget blades - so little time ...

Well guys I have something to get off my chest...........

I now own 4 SanRenMu knives and I just received my first Enlan knife, a EL01.

I must say that SRM and Enlan are simply an unbeatable value and I love all of mine!!

All I have to say about the EL01 is WOW what a knife!!!

Although these knives are a great buy and I am a proud owner and probably will never buy another over price domestic brand again there is one thing that everyone must know about the blade steel. It is a pretty good steel as far as keeping an edge and sharpining pretty easy but it will rust if not kept clean and dry. None the less I love all my quality budget blades!

I would go there a lot probably.

Who's talking down about sanrenmu knives?

Them's fightin' words there!!!

Here you go...

If anybody wants to start a real forum, just drop me a note and I'll hand over the domain.

Time to put on the tin foil hat.

It should be noted that I never been to that forum but had to take look at the thread. The ONLY one complaining about Sanrenmu was a person named Outdoors Fanatic, a username that can be found on CPF to. Could it be the same person maybe, considering the hatred for a good deal I would guess so...

That dude shows some really great discussion skills. Posting 2 pictures (where one was just plain rude and disgusting) without any information at all. Yep, I can understand why you would dislike that sort of place.

And Tido lays down the gauntlet !

Here's a rather nice and massive SanRenMu thread at britishblades.com:

I pretty much just meant that I don't like the negativity towards SRM, not the entire forum.

BF is great, lots of knowledgable posts, great sub-forums, but you just cant talk about SRM without it ending badly.

British Blades orange custom mod, positive thread...

86 pages about SRM...

BladeForums just doesnt like SRM...but this forum is great so thats good!

As I said earlier the folks at britishblades.com are indeed quite Sanrenmu friendly. Its certainly by far the most open-minded blade forum I've ever come across.

There is a thread somewhere on bladeforums, something to the effect of "tell us about the worst cut you ever sustained from your knife". It was a long read, and one of the funniest threads I've ever seen. Bloody, but funny.

Actually, there are several threads about that over there.

Here is one
