I couldn't resist. Anno threads, decent switch threaded retaining ring, nice heat sink fins, but looks like it would slip easily in a pocket. Bought one. Thank you Tiny. :)

Review from BanglaBob is XM-L2, but on your link is XM-L.

Could you confirm that It’s XM-L or XM-L2?

Lantern proved quality, to my surprise turned out to xml-2 u2 LED, that is even better. O-rings in place, and the diode is well centered on an aluminum substrate, which is good for cooling, aluminum reflector. Picking up the torch feel that hold quality thing, apparently a complete copy of Branded flashlight lantern jetbeam bc25. Of the minuses so bad it waterproof, although stated ipx7, rain survive well, but dive ... Disappointed relatively weak driver only provides 500 lumens.

This seems to indicate he expected a XM-L but got a XM-L2

Thanks, ordered. Hoping to get L2-version, but I'm ok with L U2 too.. :)

Received my yesterday. Really nice light. Just need to change out the driver and emitter centering ring. Thank you for the nice deal Tiny

Can we get pictures, and what driver are you going to use?

The outside looks just like the pictures in the product link. I don't have the skills to do better than that. I will take pictures of the inside when I open it up. If I get a chance, I will tonight.

Not sure about the driver until I see what space is available in there. Thinking DD FET type driver. Would like to see if those cooling fins can take it. Pretty compact light though. So will probably have to have a short turbo time out. I'll try that new TheStar Off-Time by _the_ because it steps down at one minute.

Hey Down_South,

I just did a search on this light and found the following reviews on various renditions of the light I got. They all look just like mine to me and are probably all make by the same factory:

  • https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/28294
  • https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/26252
  • https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/26901
  • https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/26900

Mine came with a XML, not the XML2 that some folks have received.

The star says XML-U2 but the LED is a XM-L2 according to the photos on www.flashlightwiki.com
The quality is also a lot better than the one here: Ultrafire F17 Review.
Much smoother finish on all parts inside and out and well packed so it arrived in perfect condition.
Tinydeal seems to have their act together as far as shipping goes.
Need to add 2 R220 resistors, thermal paste under the star and on the pill threads.
Bright little sucker then. Need a meter to measure. Ordered, but still waiting.

Still want to know what you are going to do to the centering ring and why.
Mine has no donut hole even at 2 inches.

I still haven't opened up the light. It I recall it has/had one of those tall centering rings that blocks light from hitting the lower part of the reflector. You may have a different one because you got an XM-L2. I got a ton of different centering rings. I just keep swapping them out until I figure out which one gives the best beam pattern. Those butterfly looking ones at Fasttech work good in a lot of different lights.

Ima4 could you kindly take a measurement of the lens (as well as the bezel opening).

Thx

I'll try to remember tonight. Remind me if I don't post anything. Looking at the pics online, it appears that the bezel ID is slightly larger than the Reflector ID. Here are some measurements from this relic38 OP:

Measurements

Dimensions:

  • Overall Length: 140.5mm
  • Bezel/Head Diameter: 33.5mm
  • Body Diameter: 25.5mm
  • Tail Diameter: 25.5mm
  • Reflector Inner Diameter: 26.4mm
  • Reflector Outer Diameter: 29.5mm
  • Reflector Depth: 21.4mm
  • Reflector Emitter hole Diameter: 6.9mm
  • Lens Diameter: 29.8mm
  • Lens Thickness: 1.56mm
  • Emitter star diameter: 20mm
  • Driver diameter: 20mm
  • Pill inner diameter: 19.0mm
  • Pill inner depth: 13.3mm
  • Pill outer diameter at threads: 23.8mm
  • Pill outer diameter before threads: 22.1mm
  • Pill outer diameter at driver flange: 21.9mm
  • Head inner diameter at pill threads: 23.2mm

Weights (without batteries):

  • Overall: 114g
  • Head: 36g
  • Body Tube: 58g
  • Tailcap: 20g

I got slightly different from above. My lens measured 29mm, the inside of the bezel (threaded area) measured just a tad over 29. The bezel opening that light come out of measured 25mm.

Hope that helps CK.
