Do you like tail clickies?

They are everywhere but do you like tail click switches or just put up with them because they are what's offered.

Personally I can't imagine a more awkward way to have to use a flashlight. Tail clickies and strobes...I can't imagine that most people if designing a light themselves would include these things. Add crenelated bezels into the mix. Don't most people have pockets that they would rather keep in tact?

Headlamps that start in high? This is a product that is frequently used in the dark. Why would you want it to come on in high every time?

I know the nation is pretty much divided 50/50 between liberals/conservatives, Democrats/Republicans, maybe it's the same in the flashlight world!

Either these are just bad ideas or the other 50% of flashlight users love them. Which is it?

I'm with you. I much prefer a side-clicky, since I do not use a flashlight for "tactical" purposes. That is one of the reasons I like my Trustfire T2

depends if its large or fits in your hand. 3c,3d or (2) 18650 + size lights are too long for tail clickies but are useful if mounted to a weapon with a pressure switches, point back to the operator

most tacticals hand gun lights have a flip switch laser , light or both , push click takes your hand out of position unless perfectly set for thumb

but in general, if its too long to be clicked esp. while holding the light closer to the other side, emitter end. its just inconvenient and takes away onehanded operation. where if you hand is naturally by the switch ...

in a tactical light a tail clicky is the way to go - just more versatile but i always thought why not both OR EVEN BETTER back is high and the front is for modes "***PATENT PENDING***,***PATENT PENDING***,***PATENT PENDING***" HJS.

the bezels are great for a lantern effect facing down - i am not sure about the damage of applying it to something. will it damage or hurt it more if shaped or not sure it would. i think that this will never happen but its a toss up if you want it vs the damage - as you know they are also finished poorly in cheapos and have sharper edges

speaking of damaging, i hate alot of the knurling - feels like ( indescribable) and tears up material

i think

Solarforce L2X Regular Speical Edition HA3 Flashlight Body

is perfect , retains most of the grip and no yucky feel

regarding modes - well i got a photo micro freedom 2 ,i think , it was years ago and that is stilll perfect.

-remembers last on setting , infinite variability ( close enough ), and hold it for strobe /SOS , there but out of the way

if they werent so useful as is i would cannibalize them for the driver

I like tail clickies so much I wish my girlfriend had one..........................................................

Do I like tail clickies?

Why , yes .

The so called defensive bezel = So over that ! Its been done to death - and needs to go away !

Its almost like you cant buy a light today without the Junk light blocking bezel .

The tail clicky , I dont mind it , but just having experienced a side clicky 18650 - There is room for more options .

And as for modes - More Programmable lights please , let the user decide . [ If it costs another Dollar or two = Great - ill pay that ]

I wish my wife had one. Seems to be stuck in strobe mode lately. Well what comes out of her mouth is annoying like strobe mode.

The only way I feel halfway comfortable with a tail clicky is if the light is a single 18650 or smaller. I prefer a side clicky.

The ideal switch in my view would be a side slider with weighting (just like neutral in a stick shift auto) to a default of low. Push forward to move up to med and then high or pull back for flashing modes (if you must have them).

Most of em do, but most men don't care...
