I first thought Cree XTE, or LuxeonQ, but it is not those. I think I have not seen this one before, some of the newer generic chinese 3535 sized leds?
Perhaps a better close-up picture of the led would help.
Does it have a raised X in the middle of the emitter?

I bought a bin of c8’s from a website trying to pass these off as XM-L’s. I have worked with a few XM-L emitter, and this surely does not look like one, or perform like one. My kids nightlight is brighter.

Yes, I use that reference about as much as a 14 y.o. girl goes on Facebook, but I’m still not quite sure what it is. Also, I started this thread on purpose because the company is fighting me that this is a 1300LM, deep reflector, XM-L torch, which is clearly untrue.
I am about to test this chinese emitter (XP-G replacement) I bought it from dx, a 'JR led 3535' . So there's new things on the market nowadays and I bet the chinese are keen not to use the relatively expensive Cree leds. If that led is chinese and a XM-L replacement, it is a first!
At the end of the day, the description for the light specifically said it uses a XM-L led, amongst other things that were inaccurate. I had planned of completely modding these lights with different emitters and using the XM-L’s from these for other lights, and instead I got a Christmas light in a flashlight. Can we at least all agree 100% that that is not a XM-L emitter?
for 100% I need a better picture of the emitter, with this one it is 99.5%

It’s hard to tell, but its actually smaller than a XP-E, which are significantly smaller than a XM-L. The XM-L dwarfs this one.
Might not even be a Cree either.

Thanks for the much better picture. Definitely not Cree, and for that matter, I just searched for it and could not find anything close.
It looks like there is a square in the center of the LED emitter. I’ve never seen an LED that looked like that before. It is definitely NOT an XM-L and most likely not a Cree of any kind.
I’ll trade you 5 XM-L’s for 5 of those if you want. They’re all pulled from lights and tested, there all genuine. Mostly I’m offering to hook you up since you mentioned you had planned on using the ones you pulled from these but I kind’a want a few of those to add to my collection of SK68’s all with different emitters too.

That emitter, AND a hollow pill? Yuck!
Oh yes, another part of these great lights that’s useless to me and will need replaced. Also, there is no lip on it, so you can screw it all the way through till it falls out the other side.
Not to change the topic, but lets no forget their claim that this was a “deep” c8. On the left is a reflector from an actual deep c8 that I purchased a few months back, and on the right is theirs.
