Eachbuyer - Review/Demo - XM-L T6 - Zoomable Model

Eachbuyer asked that I review this flashlight. Here’s the link for it on their site: Eachbuyer Zoomable 18650 In summary, it’s a decent light. Here’s a few more photos, first among some other lights I have (some of which I’m sure you’ll be familiar with):

Second and third are to some of the construction of it:

Up front I’ll tell you that it took a bit to get this and I’m in an extremely busy period at work now, so I’ll do my best to give you an idea of this flashlight and then hopefully go more in depth later.

Pros: Cost; decent build quality; it will tail stand as arrived (but not real stable, however I’ll take the lanyard out, feed it through the side hole and then double knot it on the inside once there and it will be much more stable). Having the option to run AAAs in it is also a good thing.

Cons: Charger has zero instructions…at least in my language. The writings on it are all that it has. The initial charge was past 4 hours, 20 minutes and the charge light hadn’t changed to “green” as some of my researching on the internet as I thought it might do so I pulled the battery. Further charge testing is required, but thus far, I don’t trust it. Build quality could be better as noted by the way they fixed the plastic lens, and off-center LED. It’s painted, not anodized and showing minor chips already.

Undetermined: The quality of the battery. Further testing required. There’s a spring on the positive end, and the brass button on the inside of the tail cap is spring loaded. Seems like a lot of springs, and it seems when the 3 AAAs are in that it’s pushing the positive spring to the side. We’ll see.

Performance: It has a pretty good light output. The color of the light is much cooler than my PA40, almost a purple hue. It will give a wide bright beam and when zoomed it’s decent, but not able to throw the distance the PA40 will. At approximately 100 yards the focused square in full zoom seems to be about 10 feet square…but I’m just guessing here. I’m not a big fan of flashing modes and this thing will be much better if it had last mode memory. It is just a preference thing, however.

Finally, for those that mod, the copper colored ring by the led is screwed in, but I haven’t played with it. Anyway there it is and my apologies for the unfinished first post.

Is this a good or bad review and for who or what ? :~

I had a flashlight like this about a year ago. It is really floody, about 2-2.5 times wider beam than SK68. I didn’t like it for being too big and heavy for 18650 zoomie. My sample wasn’t much brighter than 18650 XP-E zoomie, and even dimmer on AAA. The lens need to travel about 2cm from full flood to throw - a lot of light lost when zoomed out.

I would also strongly recommend not to use the battery and charger the light came with. Poor quality Li-Ion battery + poor quality charger can be dangerous.

Nice tell us more later
