DQG Spy - 10180 Charger Solution

For anyone that wants to maximize their 500 charge cycles… This is what I recommend:

I could never justify buying this light although I love the novelty of it. 90mah battery I mean really……I think fireflies have a higher runtime.

They even eco friendly too

DQG Runtime: 10-15 minutes on High ; 4-5 hours on Low
…Or even look at MBI’s HF-R keychain light. 600 lumens for 5 minutes with 15 seconds maximum continuous high to prevent overheating.

Personally, I don’t think you could expect anything more from a tiny keychain light meant to throw ridiculous amounts of lumens in short bursts.

I have this charger

The problem with this charger is that there’s no indicator light to tell you when it’s done charging. Now I’m unsure if the DQG charger has an auto-cutoff when the battery is done or not. But it most certainly doesn’t have a soft start for when you over-discharge the cell which is another reason why I went with the octa-charger.

The cottonpicker charger is good.
The DQG charger light goes off when done and also stops current.
It seems to follow a decent curve from what i can tell from a charger doctor when using it.

Ah thanks. Not sure why they don’t put this info on their product page LOL. :~

The DQG has auto-cutoff when the battery is completed, at 4.20V, and the light turn off.

Actually, you keep one on your KEY. lol. One key and 7 accessories!

I bought a Blackwater Kite flashlight from banggood which arrived quickly. It charges the 10180 battery. Bought some 10180 rechargeable from ebay for cheap too. Still waiting for my DQG Spy to ship from fasttech, they are always late. Avoiding Gearbest like the plague since they scammed me and even friends sending broken item or wrong cheap stuff and then only offering a few dollars coupons. Fasttech has more colours for Blackwater Kite than banggood but do not know if it is in stock. I recommend the blackwater kite, the charging function works very well too, cost double the DQG charger but it is a powerful cute tiny light too. Reviewed here somewhere.

Here’s my solution, lower right. Resistor modded tp4056 board encased in jbweld with clear epoxy over the indicator lights and brass charge plates bound to fiberglass cloth substrate.
