Preppers & BLF ?

I’m noticing a sharp increase in “Prepper” info, gear interest, TV shows, websites, etc. lately, and also see a rise of prepper involvement on various EDC, gear, guns, and tactical forums.
Considering that there is an interest here form many BLF members in EDC gear, guns, Lights, lanterns, and other related gear to this prepping phenomenon, who here has a bit of Doomsday Prepper in their blood ?

I must admit, I’m hoarding ammo. It’s slow going as ammo is hard to find at a reasonable price, but whenever there is a deal to be had (aka walmart) I buy.

Stack it cheap,
Stack it deep.

I am guilty of a bit of prepping myself, . food, survival gear, water filtration, Solar Off-grid power, fuel, tools, FLASHLIGHTS, Lanterns, batteries, Guns (Yes we can legally own guns in Canada) defense gear, tactical gear, knives, 2-way communications, bug-out gear, EDC gear, and so on.
Being a Search & Rescue member, and former outdoor survival teacher it goes with the stuff. :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t consider myself a prepper, but I’m making a survival kit with lots of gear, solar panel system, water filtration system and basic tools to repair them if necessary. It drives me crazy when people in the tv show stores 500KG worth of food but they have zero hunting/bushcraft skill at all, I wonder what will they do when the food runs out?

I agree, some of them over do it way to much.

I’m a Left Coast Prepper. Getting through an earthquake and the subsequent fires is my main concern so I’m focusing less on guns and more on skills, neighborhood resilience, and planning.

The knives and flashlights are definitely a bonus.

yup

I’m not looking to be a Doomsday Prepper. I have been thinking I would like some supplies and equipment for extended power loss plus the little civil unrest that would come along with it.

Wish we could get some more efficient solar panels.

Im not so much into preping perse, but really intrested in redundency. Reicently I added a battery to backup my modem and router so the next time the power goes out ill still have internets, it was really simple as well seing as both opperate on 12v.

Here I am!
I’m preparing for the zombie invasion!
Lot of knives, flashlight, food but not guns…here in Italy it’s very difficoult :_(
But the father of my sweet lady is an hunter, he have 9 shotguns, so no problem to shot some bastard in the head!

I watched Omega Man, does that count?

I am very guilty of prepping and hording.
I have food storage for my 4 kids, my wife & I for 6 months
I have enough ammo to last the rest of my life and almost enough for my kids to live on for years.
I have gear for every weather outcome in case we loose electric.

The first rule about Preping, is you don’t talk about preping… LOL

I live in Alaska, if anything can happen to the shipping, trucking, or air transport (or any combonation of them) it means things will be hard to find. The stores up here only keep about a weeks worth of supplies in the back so if you want to have it you best have it in storage. We also live where 6.0 earthquakes are not uncommon. So having food and supplies just makes sense.

Besides with the upcoming holiday rush I have seen things run out on the shelves around here, and that is when there is no problems…

Just remember, Band-aids, Beans, Beverages, and Bullets. Store them deep and plan to have an additional 30% more than you will need.

I'm not prepping for anything. My useful years are past and I don't see the need to bother. I will be one of the ones that doesn't make it through the Apocalypse, (just like 90% of the population, yes about 90%, so the chance all you preppers will live are very slim, but at least you will provide food and munitions to the real survivors. Special ops guys and elite), so I don't worry about it. I have a box of shells for my pistol, so I can kill a few before they overrun us, but that's more for making sure I piss them off, so they kill me good, instead of just wounding me, LOL. My wife wants me to shoot her first, when the time comes, so she doesn't have to suffer any atrocities at the hands of a raiding horde. That would be hard, but in her condition, I can see her point.

True.

Anyway “prepping” truly is the rationalized gear hoarding.

Oh, man, you guys make me laugh.

Oh, man, some of you guys make me laugh.

ive got 6 months of 18650s

in my country guns and ammo are not allowed (the chances are greater to win lottery than to get permission for “possession only” and nobody gets permission for carrying…so i guess those with illegal weapons have an advantage if apocalypse comes…not many flashaholics here either… :stuck_out_tongue:

Got that all squared. From the bottom to the top, from the top to the bottom, yup. I got em. 0:)
