Multimeter help me out

Ok I got this multimeter to start checking my battries after hearing bad stories about bad batts

and since I got a sst-90 I want to make sure I wont blow upso can please help this Newbie out and be gentle

so can you tell what holes do I plug the pos neg cable into and dial setting..thanks I just want to learn

The picture shows you how to plug them in. I think they have crappy leads so if you want to test for amp's get better leads. The above link is good.

That dmm will do 10a but the leads are crap. I know as I have one that is almost identical.
