EachBuyer regular price: $19.99.

KRONOREVIEW:

The Cigar C2 is a single 18650 powerbank mated to an XP-E R3 light. The flashlight comes with a Changjiang 18650 battery (same company that makes BAK) with a claimed 2200 mAh rating, USB charging cord, useable English manual all in an attractive retail box.

The flashlight ‘head’ easily attaches to the powerbank battery section via the USB port. Interesting that Manufacturer lists lumens at 80-90 lumens, and EachBuyer ‘upped’ the lumens to 350…hmm. At least they didn’t rate the battery at 6000 mAh

PROS:

Nice, anti-roll design.
Clean look with comfortable, rounded edges. Like the mfr. website says, Apple inspired design.
Glass lens.
Solid construction.
No blinkies.
Battery change is easy with coin or even your thumbnail.
Can replace with your own favorite 18650 battery if desired.
Charge your devices when no outlet is available.
Reverse polarity protection (confirmed).
Over-discharge protection. (not confirmed).
Edit: Changjiang batteries test well on OPUS charger. Rated at 2200mAh. Actual 2427 and 2342 on my two samples.

CONS:

Flashlight is one mode only.
Not tremendously bright, but decent considering it is a powerbank first.
Questionable battery quality(unknown brand).- -Edit: Changjiang brand battery.
Not much of a thermal path for LED, but shouldn’t be a problem with low amps.

BEAM SHOT:

Control shot.

From approx. 50 yards away. Beamshot does not do it justice. Much brighter with nice spill.

SUMMARY:

I like the idea of mating of an LED light with a powerbank. Although not an original idea, this one is done reasonably well. The flashlight head fits snuggly into the battery base, and should stay there without fear of popping off randomly. The beam has a nice, tight hot spot with a reasonable amount of spill (provided by a hybrid-type reflector). Tint is definitely Cool White. My DMM measures tailcap current at .5 amps. Pricing seems reasonable considering the overall quality of the components and attractiveness of the shell, but perhaps could be a few bucks cheaper. My only big reservation is the questionable Chinese made Changjiang battery that is supplied with the unit. Edit: 2200mAh Changjiang batteries actually tested higher than rating. My two samples rated at 2427mAh and 2342mAh. Nice!

Patented KronoMeter rating: 4 out of 5 stars.
(Rating raised from 3.75 due to positive mAh testing of supplied battery)

I updated review and revised my rating due to the positive battery test on OPUS charger. Battery rated at 2200mAh, but actually tested higher.

Updated in OP/review.

I like the fact that your able to swap in your own 18650.

Yep…and EASY to do. Simply unscrew the back plate with a coin, drop it in and you are good to go.

I had missed this nice and thorough review when it came out, thanks! That is a pretty nice design! Did you came across a charging chip of any sort, that takes care of a correct charging process? I can't see one on the pictures.

“Charging chip”? The only electronic components are the items in the pics above. Maybe I missed something?

Nice!

Is there any electronic components on the back side of this image?

Definitely an interesting setup…did you check the cutoff voltage of the charge in portion, and the charge current?
Wonder if a spring bypass could help (even though the output is 5vdc thru a resistor bridge)

Thanks…for $10~ I would get a few of these, they just don’t look like $20 lights to me

$12.20 at fasttech for C2, $14.24 for C3

Does anyone have one of these? http://www.gearbest.com/led-flashlights/pp_236474.html

I wonder if this is as good as the C2 and C3…
