Judging by pictures and size, it was quite a thrower? Better than Jacob A6?

Everyone who's getting these fakes should be posting over in the GearBest thread.

Lets clean up Simon's thread, & look forward to the Blue S2! Beer

Clearly tell them “I need a PayPal refund. Do not give me store credit or coupon.” And I’d put at the end of every message I sent to them regarding this.

Of course they may still try to give you credit. Flat Stare But at least you were quite clear on the matter.

I used my red S2+ to build a red red-orange amber color mixing light, I don’t know what I’d put into a blue one.

I hope the replacement they send is a real on. We’ll soon find out.

I think part of the problem is that in China there can be several companies making lights for one person\brand name. I believe Simon probably uses the one manufacturer, hence the good quality. But since every copies each other over there it becomes a free for all. We had this with the X6 BLF if I recall correctly, various quality hosts coming out.

These ‘fakes’ do seem to be particularly bad though.

By the way did anyone know that EagleEye is Rayus light? Again hence the high quality.

Marc.

I agree. Good point about cleaning up this thread. It seems to have spun out. If you buy from Simon you will never get a fake Convoy. I’m excited for the blue S2+ too. I talked to Simon again last night. He shot down the green version because he thinks a green flashlight is ugly. LOL I’ll still try to change his mind though. As far as the L2 goes I’m sad to report that he said he will not bring it back because the design is not good (obviously many disagree) and he didn’t make money on that one. Cool as many people think it was you can’t expect a business man to knowingly produce something that will not turn a profit.

Yeah that’s the real reason, he didn’t make money on it. That = “design is not good” for a business man. For most of the reasons we may like it, the “general public” probably doesn’t, so it won’t sell in high enough numbers. The only way to bring it back probably would be to try to get a “group buy” with high enough numbers here for him to be interested. You could ask what those numbers would look like, but because its more expensive, it would be hard to get many hundreds.

Red S2+ as a host:
http://www.banggood.com/Convoy-S2-Red-LED-Flashlight-Host-Shell-For-DIY-p-989669.html
But is it the real deal? Brass retaining rings, but “1 x Aluminum pill” ?? Since the pictures are from the original light it’s hard to say if it has the SS switch cover…

Agreed. Besides it’s only 29 cents more on Simon’s site. It does say minimum quantity 2 but I bet if you asked Simon he’d sell you just 1 and you know you’re getting the real thing and it will probably ship faster. I trust Banggood more than GB so it could just be a mistake in the description but personally I wouldn’t want to take a chance.

I agree. Get it from Simon.

In the interest fairness. Banggood have been caught out in the past with the BLF X6 host, fasttech with best fire? With fake LEDs. List is endless.

Not the first, won’t be the last.

Marc - You need to clarify explain the comment about Banggood and the BLF X6 host. That comment insinuates that Banggood was selling counterfeit BLF X6 hosts which is not the case. The only counterfeit was that OTHER vendors except GearBest were advertising BLF X6 SE lights and sending stock EE units.

As for Convoy...buy from Simon. Even if it comes to be a dollar or two more - so what. You will know what you are getting.

Yes. Banggood ended up selling the BLF X6 hosts which was utter crap and from memory also from a questionable source. Real or fake they were not supplying what they should have been, which is the same thing when it comes to substandard products.

To make it worse, now we have two people claiming to be Eagleeye!

I also don’t recall saying BG have been selling fake X6s.

Marc

Read the comment highlighted in red. I said it insinuated not that you came right out and said.

As for the X6 host...there were packaging problems NOT problems with the host....and there are not two Eagle Eye. There was an Ali store that made that claim but she has been long gone. Since then nobody has claimed to be EE except the real EE.

I am not giving you a hard time but it is very annoying to see accusations and insinuations that are false. If something is the truth then so be it but they must be based on actual fact.

For the record, I am not protecting or defending anybody BUT many many years ago I saw someone do the exact same thing on a forum whereas it got to be so bad that the gentleman lost his business and then eventually committed suicide. Sad thing is...it was found out later to be all completely false because someone felt that the anonymity of the internet gave them a free pass to start and spread rumors and lies BUT since it was on the internet it must have been true.... right?

Everything must be based on fact and proof or it is just a lie IMO Smile

Are you for real? Have you read what you have typed?

First of all I did NOT insinuate anything, I stated a fact that is well documented in a thread on here. No mention of fakes. That was you.

Secondly, I am not talking about the Ali store, I have a PM from Rayus claiming to be Eagleeye. That IS fact.

Thirdly, I would prefer if you would not INSINUATE that I am in someway trying to ruin somebody’s business. Utter nonsence!

Marc.

Then let Rayus state so publicly. They may be the OEM but that does not make them EE

Edit: Marc...I am not saying or insinuating that you are trying to ruin anybody's business but comments such as those lead other people to start all sorts of things. It is called personal responsibility.

I stated the facts only. I insinuated nothing and did not in anyway mentition directly or otherwise about banggood selling fake x6s.

You however made reference to someone who became suicidal after somebody spread nasty rumers about him or his products. You linked this to my comments. That is insinuating. And is wrong!
