Single AAA Gifts

I like to give small AAA lights to friends or people with whom I deal, like my Drs. I was buying the TANK007 TK701, but they increased in price. I found some single AAA lights that are not expensive, but the quality is good for the price. I have purchased several and am pleased.

If you want a cheap AAA take a look at that one.

HAPPY NEW YEAR,

I have the 2AAA version…I agree- nice light for the price!

are the lumens accurate? How long did it take to receive them?

thanks…

May be same seller at Aliexpress.

I’ve bought mine from this seller.

Some comment after received it. https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/30018?page=6

I also have bought some XP-1 for gifts and friends were impressed by the brightness of such a small flashlight. Brilliant deal, really!

Yeah the aliexpress hugsby xp-1 and xp-2 are a great deal, i have bought a bunch for gifting.

I don’t understand what the listing is for? did you get 2 xp-1’s or one xp-1 and one xp-2 like the listing pictures lower down?

The last two were XP 1.
I ordered on the 16th of Dec and received them on 31st.

estimated about 70~80 lumens at least on AAA duracell 1.5 alkaline, compared with my other accurately measured lights. The 2x AA version is much more better in my opinion comparing the output and the price range.

I just got a couple of the the XP-2, and they work with 1x10440 + 1 dummy AAA, and are much brighter (albeit still single mode), so I’m guessing that these 1xAAA ones have the same driver and emitter and will probably work with 1x10440.

Anyone tried that yet?

Also, has anyone modded any of these yet, maybe with an XP-G2 or different driver (with modes - would love to get some modes)?

Thanks, and Happy New Year to you all!

Jim

No, big no no, i fried one of my XP-1 with a 10440, i was expecting to run them with 10440 but i was wrong, it does lights up and fairly bright about at least 150 lumens but for not more than 10 seconds before it burns out, now leaving me with pack of 4 soshine 10440 batteries laying around doing nothing, awaiting for some 10440 lights to put them in.

Happy new year to you too.

Hi,

I’m a little surprised, but thanks for taking the hit and posting that info :(!

FYI, and for the record, I just tried with the XP-2 and left it on for awhile and it’s still alive, although the head did get kind of warm.

I just ordered a pair of the 1xAAA ones, and if I have time, will pull the drivers out and see if the 1xAAA driver is different from the 2xAAA driver.

Jim

I tried the xp-1 with the efest 10440 and it would not light up at all, i guess fortunately now then, because yours burnt out.

Where can i get a aaa dummy?

I wonder if you can take the xp-2’s head and use it on the xp-1 to get a 10440 capable xp-1, i think someone mentioned that the xp-1’s head was brighter on the xp-2 anyway so i may be an good upgrade all around. I tried to find the post about the xp-1 & xp-2 head switching to double check, but i couldn’t find it so i not 100% sure about this.

I also would like to mod these with a driver for some modes and a xp-l led upgrade, i tried to get out the driver from the xp-1 but failed totally, so if you succeed please tell me how to open the head.

The bottom spring on these are very stiff and sharp and have already scratched one of my eneloop aaa, so always unscrew the head to change the battery instead of the bottom.

I have both so I gave a try on what you mentioned…

And it works! Its freaking bright for its size, like almost 200 lumens from my estimation compared with other lights! Regardless it gets very hot after 20 seconds until I have to shut it off…

Yes :-), very nice. and is the xp-1’s head brighter on the xp-2’s body?
I can’t wait to get my xp-2’s now.

Sorry can’t do cuz my XP-1’s head is fried/dead. And since mine was fried by 3.7v rated 10440 I believe it maybe wont survive two AAA either, just guessing, i might be wrong.

Hope you get yours soon to try it out.

Hi,

You’re way ahead of me… that’s what I was going to try :)!!

Have you tried to disassemble the head to see how different the drivers are? Maybe (Hoping) their the same or maybe just a different solder pad or something like that.

BTW, that seller is SUPER fast. Ordered on Ebay earlier today, and already got an email with a tracking number (which doesn’t work yet).

If you have a fried xp-1 head maybe you could try to open it? i just have the xp-1 now but i like it to much  to forcefully open it in case i break it.

I don’t think anyone have open one yet and it would be interesting to know if it is possible to open it at all, i tried to remove the solder bumps and pry the driver out, but it didn’t budge, i suspect it is glued in.

I think dx sells aaa drivers you could use if the led is still ok and it is only the driver that fried.

It’s sealed shut by soldering, topped with a cheaply made reverse polarity foam/rubbery thingy.

btw it says “2AA 11.5” around the contact point which idk what it means-

imma go ahead and try to break open on the fried ones when i have free time.

Thanks Keron, i look forward to any insight in to how, if it is even possible to get the head open non destructively, i have bought some extra hugsbys for trying this myself but they will not arrive for a while yet.

On idea i had, was to after the solder bumps are removed, to get the glue or whatever it is that is holding the driver assembly in place, weaker by heating it up with a hot-air gun or maybe the stove top or possible a strong jet lighter. the problem with this is it could possible destroy the driver and led, but that is why i won’t try it before i get some more hugsbys for the sacrifice J)
