New build. mattaus silver coated copper P60 pill triple.

This light was built entirely around mattaus P60 triple pill. This piece of copper was machined to perfection and the coating was totally blemish free. The pill was built to take heat away from the leds so why not a light to further get rid of heat from the pill. As usual I had no idea where I was heading with this light at the start except it would have the triple Nichia again on copper and TIR to suit all from IOS powered by a 3 amp 7135 driver and 18650 battery. I had in my mind that I wanted a smooth looking light to match the pill.

mattaus's pill. This has the driver and leds installed.

The head of the light. The fins are about 1.5mm in width 3mm deep.

A picture of the bezel along side the end of the head where the pill resides. The pill pushes in with a very light drag. Heat is transferred very rapidly to the head and the heat spreads rapidly to the rest of the light.

The tailcap.

And finally a battery tube.

Put lots of pieces in a pile.

And you have one of these.

Complete with finger print.

And finally a couple of pictures with another couple of triples.

A big thanks to Matt for making the effort to have these made and offer these pills to us. Fit and finish was perfect and all components fitted installed with absolute precision.

My favorite shot.

Heres a few night shots. The distance to the far shrubs is about 20 meters.

The first is low being .15 Amp.

Medium. 1 Amp.

Hi. 3 Amps.

And for comparison an XML at 3 Amps through a 22mm 10 degree TIR.

Wow! Nice work! That looks awesome!

I have two of Matt’s triple shells here along with emitters and drivers ready for them. I just can’t decide which host to go with!

Wow, great job! And very nice family picture!! ;)

I like the design of the host, you have very good taste.

That’s very nice.

The triple Nichia with that optic puts out a nice light as well.

Awesome build! Very nice. Does it accomodate other P60 drop-ins as well, or does it simply reject anything less beautiful as Mataus' silver artwork :-) ?

Flashlight porn :stuck_out_tongue:

Pure awesome! Thanks for taking the time to post pix.

Easily my favorite out of all of your builds .

Fantastic .

Thanks for sharing .

this is the stuff of legends

That is incredibly beautiful!

Spectacular as usual. You have a unique style and that's a good thing. Thanks for showing us the latest build.

Beam Shots Soon?

I'm not sure what other triple setups fit. This is the first setup I've used like this. A standard P60 reflector will not work with this pill for those that aren't sure.

This is what I used here.

The lens just stuck up above the top surface of the pill when installed which allowed a very sharp knife edge to just grip the protruding edge to pop it out once inserted. It was a very neat fit.

I wasn't going to do beam shots as the light is all flood. I'll endeavor to get a couple tonight if I'm home in time. Maximum usable range would be around 40 yards on high at a guess. The 3 amp driver which has a very slight buzz on medium, does a good job driving the leds in parallel. The heat produced actually surprised me with the light getting quite hot after a couple of minutes.

If you new how the lights I build end up the way they do you would laugh. Its along the lines of s___t happens. Thanks.

If Dumb luck got the job done that well I’d take it over planning anytime. Oh, wait, I already do! Really nice proportions on that little guy.

It appears my reply to this did not happen. Night shots are in the OP. You gotta love Gremlins.

Love it. Looks fantastic!

Excellent as usual.

You do some really nice work
