Seeing as there hasn’t been a thread on the DQG hobi, I thought I would start one.

Here are a few pictures of the hobi

I will post some more detail thoughts when I get a chance. At the moment I am dissappointed how loose the hobi head is when off. There is little resistance, and I do suspect the head may accidentally come off with time. While the DQG hobi head works on the spy body, it is even more loose… I wouldn’t recommend it. The DQG spy head fits on the hobi’s body, but has trouble turning to high mode… low mode works okay though.

Nice, I have the Fairy on its way. Have you tested run times? What makes the Hobi really cool is the extension tubes that allow you to expand it to use a bigger battery. Do they come with the light?

Does anyone know if the extension tube threads fit the brass Fairy threads.Options to mix brass , ss and titanium would be cool.Ability to run AAA or even 10440 would be nice as well.
I think I will have to call mine an Elf or Pixie.“Lets have a look at your fairy light then” the shame…

(I think that a dedicated thread about a flashlight deserves pictures that are visible inside the post instead that you have click a link to find out what flashlight the subject is about . See the 'insert image' icon in the editor and paste your links in there. (It varies with which site you host your pictures how to obtain the direct link for the picture so that it displays in the post. I use flickr and it is a bit of a pain with that one, but you have the links ready to go as you can see below)

Been a bit busy to write up a review yet… here are a few quick thoughts;

I have to say I prefer the beam on the hobi vs spy. It has a bit more of a hot spot but still good amount of flood.
No trit in the hobi, but glow in the dark o-ring in the head, instead. The o-ring doesn’t stay bring for very long.
Hobi can’t tail stand vs the spy (which can)
I prefer the knurling on the spy
Main downside on my copy of the Hobi, is the loose head. Others have reported they don’t have this issue. I’m tossing up whether to return it…

I have a stainless D2, a brass Fairy on the way, and I would LOVE a good deal on a TI Hobi you round out the collection.

Count me in too. I asked GearBest and they said if there is interest the will get they Hobi and do a group buy. I asked for stainless steel and the extensions.
