Kudos to Mountain Electronics

Hi all,

I am new to this forum and in the last few months I have started adding some lights to my collection. I have placed 2 orders with Mountain Electronics and received both very promptly and well packaged. Shipping prices are amazing considering the care he takes to package items. Many thanks to Richard (RMM) for his excellent service and his willingness to share modding advice on this site.

Hi and welcome Hubby. You have been truly spoilt and will be disapointed with 99.5 of other shops if you purchase from overseas. RMM is one in a hundred. If I can give you some advice just leave now. The members here leave subliminal messages in your head making you purchase lights that you think you want but dont need. You have been warned.

well unfortunately it is too late for a warning. :open_mouth: I have already jumped in. I already have more light than I need, and I just built a P60 drop-in and a Convoy S2+ short. It is really nice to have Mtn Electronics here in the US. I can get stuff he has in stock within a week.

Welcome to BLF!

You can blame Richard’s great service for spending your money.

no turning back now.

There is no such thing as “too many lights” … <subliminal message- repeat this phrase many times until it is ingrained in your psyche
Welcome to the forum!

Thanks for signing up, Hubby with a C!

I'm a little disappointed with them at the moment!!! Just like last time, time before shipping is really slow!!! 2 weeks, that's just unacceptable!!!

No messages or whatsoever. I would have changed my order.

Don't really care about others orders, I can only look at my 2 orders and both shipped late. No kudos here!!

Did you have anything that required being built?

Umm don't think so, maybe a 17 dd driver.. but would be strange if he didn't have them in stock.. 15 days is very long..

Just waiting for his response, maybe my feelings aren't grounded and will delete these messages.. maybe he shipped them earlier, don't know, jus received a shipping notice from my January 2 order.

A+ for Richard great guy, i no he just got back from a trip i believe ? but give it time he will send u a msg or email

Mountain is the best. Richard is incredible. But he is only human. I hear of quick shipping. I ordered (2) cells from him on 1/13 p.m. Tracking shows them arriving here in Calif on Tuesday, 1/20! Granted Monday is a holiday. That’s too long for being so close to me. Will it affect my opinion of Mountain Electronics. Not at all, they are one of the best … they can be trusted.

edit: tracking has been corrected to my receiving this order today (Saturday). Sometimes tracking gets it wrong. All is well. Hoo-yah!

Welcome to the BrightSide , Hubby

I recommend you open a spreadsheet to keep track of your (flashlight) purchases.
(I have a feeling you’re gonna need it)

I don't want to come across as being harsh here, but your invoice said the following clearly at the bottom:

I shipped by that date.

I build and test all of the FET drivers to order. We were moving at the time you placed your order, and school started back up this week, which is why the date was so far out.

I'm not trying to say that I've never shipped anything late, because I certainly have, or that I haven't made mistakes, because I have made and continue to make them, but I don't feel that it is fair to say that I shipped this order late when from the outset the expectation of the shipping date was clear. I stayed up late last night so that your order could be ready to go out on the promised date. I don't always ship custom parts on time, but I really try hard to do it, even if it means missing out on sleep at times.

If I would have known or understood time that it was so important for you to receive it sooner than the specified date, then I would have let you know that the driver was what was going to hold it up, or told you to get it somewhere else so that you could get it on time. I understand the frustration of expecting parts for a project to arrive, that don't arrive on time.

Obviously something wasn't correctly understand, on my behalf or your behalf, which lead to this. For that, I apologize.

Sometimes I worry that some of these glowing reviews will build up a standard that I can't possibly live up to, but that's just the way things are. Sometimes is can be discouraging and it's been a long week. Time to get some rest so I can wake up early tomorrow and kick some serious flashlight butt!

Hi RMM,

Thanks for responding to my complaint, also thanks for your PM.

I honestly haven't seen that message. It must have been somewhere I never look. I clearly didn't know it was going to take so long. Anyway, sorry for being so negative.

As said in my PM, maybe a few things could be shown a little more clear,, like the 10 business days wait etc.. maybe in big Red letters, or when ordering in the description in red. Just trying to help to improve your web shop.

Cheers

I don’t let that stop me. I don’t mind the extra costs from customs, but sometimes the packets slip through.

Any UK buyers been unlucky to pay customs charges??

Yeah about ÂŁ30 so far.

Phew it wasn’t just me then. Can’t believe the post offic charge £8 then you have to pay customs on top. The cheeky sods
